The Love Field terminal
Love Field is the city-owned airport about 10 km north-west of downtown, run by the City of Dallas Department of Aviation. It has one terminal with 20 gates, a cap set by a 2006 agreement between the cities, the airlines and the regional airport board. Southwest Airlines runs most flights, with a few other carriers. There are no scheduled international passenger flights, so there is no customs hall; international travellers to the region use DFW.

DART rail and bus alternatives
Love Field has no rail station of its own. The DART Love Link bus runs between the terminal and Inwood/Love Field station on the Green and Orange lines, which continue to downtown; check DART for times. The Trinity Railway Express connects Dallas Union Station with Fort Worth. A car is quicker to Uptown, Highland Park and the northern business districts, and it is the only simple option for families with luggage.

Love Field's short drive to many of them makes it popular for day trips. Game days and the State Fair
The State Fair of Texas runs at Fair Park from late September into October each year, and the Texas-Oklahoma football game in the Cotton Bowl is one of its busiest days. The Mavericks and Stars play at the American Airlines Center near Victory Park, and the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Departing from Love Field: timing and drop-off
Love Field is compact, and the walk from the curb to the checkpoint is short, but security can still queue at morning and late-afternoon peaks. For a domestic flight, a pickup 90 minutes to two hours ahead from Uptown or downtown is usually enough; from Plano, Frisco or Fort Worth, allow two and a half hours. The departures road loops in front of the terminal, and the chauffeur stops at the door closest to your airline's check-in. If you are flying from one of the private terminals on the field instead, give us the FBO name so the car goes to the right gate.
Uptown, Highland Park and hotel drop-offs
Many Love Field passengers are heading only a few kilometres away. Uptown's hotels along McKinney Avenue and Cedar Springs Road, the Park Cities around Highland Park Village, and the Design District are all within about 15 minutes.
