Two points matter more in Atlanta than elsewhere. First, the airport has two separate terminal complexes on opposite sides of the airfield, so the right side must be on the booking. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International is one of the busiest passenger airports in the world and Delta's main hub. Seven concourses (T, A, B, C, D, E and F) are linked underground by the Plane Train.
Domestic Terminal (North and South)
The Domestic Terminal on the west side of the airfield, off I-85, is split into North and South sides. Delta uses the South side; most other airlines use the North. Arriving from abroad
Travellers on the Visa Waiver Program need an approved ESTA; Global Entry and Mobile Passport Control shorten the queue at ATL for eligible passengers. Morning banks of arrivals from Europe and afternoon arrivals from Latin America can produce long lines, and connecting passengers re-check bags after customs. Rail and transit connections
Amtrak's Crescent, between New York and New Orleans, stops once a day in each direction at the small Peachtree Station on Peachtree Road in Brookwood. The Downtown Connector, where I-75 and I-85 merge through the centre, and the I-285 Perimeter are slow for much of the day, and the Georgia 400 corridor through Sandy Springs is under long-term construction for new express lanes. Georgia's hands-free law bans holding a phone while driving, and chauffeurs follow it.
