What is a luxury chauffeur service?
A luxury chauffeur service is a private, pre-booked car with a professional driver, where the vehicle and the standard of service are the reason for the booking rather than an afterthought. The passenger is not sharing the car, not waiting at a taxi rank and not hoping that the car that turns up matches the photo in an app. With BlaakLane.com, a luxury chauffeur service means three things are settled before the day: the vehicle class, the fare and the pickup plan.
The cars are the top end of our fleet. Most luxury bookings use a Luxury Executive Sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series, Audi A8 or equivalent), an executive SUV (Cadillac Escalade, Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Lincoln Navigator) or, for the moments that call for it, a Rolls-Royce Ghost, Phantom or Cullinan, a Mercedes-Maybach S-Class or a Bentley Flying Spur from our partner fleet. Every vehicle is four model years old or younger; the only exceptions are Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley, which are accepted up to seven model years.
How do I book a luxury chauffeur?
Booking takes a few minutes in the reservation engine at the top of this page or on the booking page:
- Choose the trip type. A one-way transfer, a return, or hourly and as-directed service where the car stays with you.
- Enter the pickup and drop-off. A hotel name, a private address, a terminal, a private jet terminal or a restaurant all work. For airport pickups, add the flight number.
- Pick the vehicle class. The engine lists the classes available in that city on that date. Partner-fleet cars such as Rolls-Royce and Maybach appear where a vetted local operator can supply them.
- Add the details. Passenger names, child seats (free, in most cities), notes for the chauffeur, a second stop.
- Check the fare and confirm. The price shown is fixed for the trip as booked. There is no meter and no surge.
You receive a written confirmation straight away. Nearer the day, it is updated with the chauffeur's name and mobile number and the car's make, colour and plate where the operator has assigned them.
What does the luxury chauffeur fare include?
The fare in the engine covers the car and chauffeur for the trip you booked, door to door, with the airport access charges the operator pays to collect you; any airport parking is charged at actual cost and added to the booking. Airport pickups include flight tracking and free waiting from the actual landing time: 60 minutes for international arrivals and 30 minutes for domestic flights. Every other pickup includes 15 minutes. After that, waiting is billed in 15-minute blocks.

Which luxury car should I choose?
Choose by the number of passengers, the luggage and the impression the trip needs to make. A Luxury Executive Sedan is the quietest place to work or rest; an SUV carries a family and its cases; a Rolls-Royce is for an arrival people will remember.

How is a luxury chauffeur different from a taxi or a premium rideshare?
The difference is mostly in what is fixed in advance. A taxi or a rideshare is priced on the day, often by the minute or with a demand multiplier, and the car is whatever is nearest. A luxury chauffeur booking fixes the vehicle class, the price and the pickup plan before you travel. The chauffeur is dressed for business, knows the route, loads the bags and waits for you if the flight is late.
There are practical differences too. A chauffeur can stay with you for an evening of three venues, which a rideshare cannot. The same booking desk can arrange the car in London on Monday and in Dubai on Thursday, on one account. And because the booking is made by name, the person meeting you knows who you are and where you are going before you get in.
Who drives the car outside Toronto?
Our reservations and dispatch desk is in Toronto and runs 24 hours a day. In the home dispatch area around Toronto, trips are run from that desk. Everywhere else, your trip is driven by a vetted local affiliate operator from the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network, contracted to the BlaakLane.com written standard. The confirmation names the operator and, closer to the day, the chauffeur.
The standard covers the parts of a luxury trip that a passenger cannot check from the back seat: commercial licensing, passenger insurance, vehicle age and inspection, chauffeur screening and conduct. Where does the chauffeur meet me at the airport?
Curbside pickup is standard. Most large airports only allow pre-booked cars to stop in a designated commercial or pre-arranged pickup area. After you collect your bags, you message the chauffeur and are directed to the car. The pickup note in your confirmation is written for your airport and terminal, whether that is the forecourt at Heathrow Terminal 5, the pre-booked car zone at Dubai International or the arrivals level at JFK.
Meet and greet is an add-on. If you would like the chauffeur waiting inside the arrivals hall with a name board, add meet and greet when you book. Add-ons are only available in selected locations, because some airports do not permit drivers to wait inside the terminal. The engine only offers it where it can be delivered.
Luxury chauffeur service for private jets
Private aviation is a large part of luxury chauffeur work. For a jet arrival, give the tail number or the operator's reference and the FBO, and the chauffeur is timed to the block-in time. Where the FBO and airport security allow it, the car can meet the aircraft planeside; where they do not, it waits at the FBO entrance. Choose hourly in the engine, set the hours and the first address, and the chauffeur remains with you, waiting outside each stop and moving on when you are ready. A Rolls-Royce Ghost or Phantom for the couple, an S-Class or an SUV for parents, and a Sprinter for the wedding party is a common plan. What is the cancellation policy?
Plans change, and the policy is the same for every booking and every city:
- More than 72 hours before pickup: no charge.
- 72 hours or less: 10 % of the fare.
- 48 hours or less: 50 %.
- 24 hours or less, or a no-show: 100 %.
Changes to time, address or vehicle can be made through the booking link or the 24/7 desk, and the engine reprices the trip before you accept the change.
A short checklist before a luxury trip
Check that the name, the car and the plate match your confirmation before you get in. Keep the chauffeur's mobile number to hand for an airport pickup. If you are travelling with a pet, a large instrument, golf bags or skis, say so when you book so that the right car is sent. And if you are arriving from abroad, remember that immigration and baggage are outside anyone's control: the 60 minutes of included waiting exists for exactly that reason.
