Winters are cold, with snow in the mountains from December to March; the ski resorts of Poiana Brasov and Sinaia draw weekend traffic then. The Black Sea coast is busiest in July and August. Bucharest's old Baneasa airport, close to the city on the same northern road, now handles mainly business aviation, so private-flight arrivals may land there rather than at Otopeni; add the handler's name to the booking. Bucharest North station (Gara de Nord) is the main rail hub for trains from Brasov and Constanta, and station pickups include 15 minutes of waiting.
