Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA) is on the south coast, next to Oranjestad, and it is the only airport on the island. Roads, seasons and island events

Aruba drives on the right and uses many roundabouts. Speed limits are low, and the main tourist corridor, J.E. Irausquin Boulevard, is slowed by pedestrians and scooters in the evening. The trade winds blow steadily from the east, which is why the north-east coast is rugged and the calm swimming beaches face west and south.
