Flying privately into the Coachella Valley
PSP handles a large share of the valley's business aviation. Signature and Atlantic Aviation both run FBOs on the field, and Signature's facility includes customs for arriving international private flights. East of Indio, Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport (TRM) in Thermal is closer to La Quinta, Indian Wells' eastern neighbourhoods and the polo grounds, and becomes very busy during the April festivals. Arriving from LAX, Ontario, Orange County or San Diego
Many visitors fly into a larger Southern California airport and drive the rest. Interstate 10 through the San Gorgonio Pass is the main approach, and the stretch through Banning and Cabazon is known for strong crosswinds and weekend congestion.

The calendar concentrates between January and April, and those weeks book up early.

Coachella and Stagecoach weekends: what to expect
On festival weekends the roads around Indio are managed by traffic plans with designated drop-off and pickup areas for car services, and routes change year to year. Driving realities: heat, wind and seasonal peaks

California drives on the right, and there are no toll roads on the usual valley or Los Angeles routes.
Rail and bus arrivals
The Amtrak station at North Palm Springs, north of Interstate 10, is served by the long-distance Sunset Limited a few times a week and is an unstaffed platform, often used at night.
