In 2026 a BlaakLane.com chauffeur with a business sedan costs $155 CAD an hour, $1,550 for a ten-hour day and $6,200 to $34,100 a month for 40 to 220 reserved hours. A chauffeur to drive your own car is $95 an hour with a 4-hour minimum. Every price includes taxes and a 20% gratuity; only tolls, parking and Wi-Fi are added at cost.
The short answer, by vehicle
Chauffeur pricing is easier to compare when the tax and the tip are already in the number, so every figure on this page is all-in. The hourly rate covers the chauffeur, the vehicle, fuel, insurance, taxes, a 20% gratuity and the first 150 km of each day.
| All-in, CAD | Business sedan | First-class sedan | SUV Business Class | SUV First Class | Chauffeur only (your car) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Per hour, within the city | $155 | $285 | $185 | $235 | $95 (4-hour minimum) |
| Per hour, out of town (+50%) | $232.50 | $427.50 | $277.50 | $352.50 | $142.50 |
| 10-hour day, within the city | $1,550 | $2,850 | $1,850 | $2,350 | $950 |
| Each km over 150 a day | $3 | $8 | $4 | $4 | fuel at cost |
All prices are in Canadian dollars. The first-class sedan class is a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or Genesis G90; the SUV Business Class is a Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator or GMC Yukon XL; the SUV First Class is the long-wheelbase Escalade ESV, Navigator L, Yukon Denali or Cadillac Vistiq. Every car is four model years old or newer.
Monthly and yearly prices
A monthly block reserves a named chauffeur for a set number of hours. The price is the hourly rate times the hours: there is no discount for volume and no premium for commitment. A yearly contract holds the same block at the same rate for twelve months.
| Hours reserved each month | Business sedan | First-class sedan | SUV Business Class | SUV First Class | Chauffeur only (your car) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 40 hours | $6,200 | $11,400 | $7,400 | $9,400 | $3,800 |
| 80 hours | $12,400 | $22,800 | $14,800 | $18,800 | $7,600 |
| 120 hours | $18,600 | $34,200 | $22,200 | $28,200 | $11,400 |
| 220 hours (10 h x 22 days) | $34,100 | $62,700 | $40,700 | $51,700 | $20,900 |
Hours and kilometres do not roll over from one month to the next. Overtime beyond the block is billed at the same hourly rate. See the monthly chauffeur service and yearly chauffeur contracts for how the programmes work.
What changes the price
Six things move a chauffeur invoice up or down, and none of them is hidden.
- The vehicle class. A first-class sedan costs $130 an hour more than a business sedan; an SUV Business Class costs $30 more.
- The hours. You pay for the chauffeur's time from the booked start to the release, including waiting between stops. That is the difference between a chauffeur and a taxi: the car is yours while you are inside the meeting.
- Kilometres beyond 150 a day. $3 a kilometre in a business sedan, $4 in either SUV, $8 in a first-class sedan. Most city days stay under 150 km.
- Leaving the city. Out-of-town hours are billed at the hourly rate plus 50%. When the trip needs an overnight, the chauffeur's hotel is added at cost along with a flat $100 travel allowance. This applies whether the chauffeur drives our car or yours.
- Tolls, parking and Wi-Fi. Passed through at actual cost: the 407 ETR, a downtown garage, an in-car hotspot. Nothing is marked up.
- Special vehicles. Executive Sprinters, Jet Sprinters, minicoaches, motorcoaches, armoured SUVs and ultra-luxury cars such as Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley are quoted to the itinerary; see Jet Sprinter and coach hire and armoured car service.
Worked examples
Real trips make the numbers easier to read. All figures are CAD and all-in.
A day of meetings downtown. A visiting director lands at Toronto Pearson at 8:00, has four meetings between the Financial District and Yorkville, and is dropped at a hotel at 18:00. Ten hours in a business sedan, under 150 km: $1,550. In a first-class sedan: $2,850. If the 407 is used on the way in, the toll is added at cost.
An evening out in your own car. Our chauffeur meets you at 19:00, drives you to dinner and a show and brings you and your car home at 23:30. Four and a half hours at $95: $427.50, with no kilometre charge because the car is yours.
A day trip to Ottawa. Toronto to Ottawa is roughly 450 km each way by road, so about 900 km for the day. In a business sedan, say twelve hours, of which nine are outside the city: three hours at $155 ($465) plus nine at $232.50 ($2,092.50), plus 750 km beyond the daily 150 at $3 ($2,250), plus the $100 travel allowance. Total about $4,907.50 before tolls. For a trip like this, the train to Ottawa with a chauffeur waiting at the station is often the better answer, and the desk will say so.
A family weekend in Muskoka. An SUV Business Class for two ten-hour days, mostly out of town, with one overnight: twenty hours at $277.50 ($5,550), the chauffeur's hotel at cost, the $100 allowance and any kilometres over 300 for the two days at $4.
A full-time chauffeur. A 220-hour month in a business sedan is $34,100, or $409,200 for a year. With our chauffeur in your own car, it is $20,900 a month.
Chauffeur, car service or ride app?
The three are priced differently because they sell different things.
- A ride app sells a single trip at a price that changes with demand. You do not choose the driver or the car, and the meter does not wait.
- A point-to-point car service sells a fixed fare for one trip in a defined vehicle class. BlaakLane.com prices these in the reservation engine; see rates and black car service.
- A chauffeur by the hour sells time: the person and the car are yours from start to finish, waiting included. That is what this page prices.
If you need one trip, book a fixed fare. If you need a car for most of a day, hire a chauffeur by the hour. If you need a car most days, a monthly block is simpler and gives you the same person every time.
Why "all-in" matters
Chauffeur quotes are often shown before tax and before gratuity, and some carry surcharges on top. Once tax and a 20% tip are added back, the real hourly cost is well above the advertised figure. BlaakLane.com chauffeur hire prices already contain taxes and a 20% gratuity, and the only additions are the three costs we cannot know in advance: tolls, parking and Wi-Fi, each at actual cost. When you compare providers, ask for the same thing in writing. The National Limousine Association suggests the same approach when buying chauffeured transportation.
How to read any chauffeur quote
Whoever you book with, check five lines before you sign: whether tax and gratuity are inside the hourly figure or added afterwards; what the minimum hours are and when the clock starts; how many kilometres a day are included and the price of each one after that; what happens when the job leaves the city; and the cancellation scale. A quote that answers all five in writing is easy to compare. One that leaves any of them for the invoice is not.
Is the operator licensed?
A low hourly price is no saving if the operator is not licensed for passengers for hire. In Toronto, limousine owners and drivers are licensed by the city; the City of Toronto limousine owner licence page sets out the requirements. Vehicle safety and recall rules are national and published by Transport Canada. Our own written standard, including the four-model-year limit on every car, is on the safety page.
Prices in other cities
The same rate card applies across the BlaakLane.com network, in Toronto and the GTA, Ottawa, Montréal, Vancouver and Calgary, and in our international cities, where the agreement confirms the rate and currency in writing before the first booking.
Cancellations
More than 72 hours before pickup, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10%; 48 hours or less, 50%; 24 hours or less, or a no-show, 100% of the reserved service.
