One terminal, three kinds of arrival
YOW has a single passenger terminal. Domestic flights, international flights and US transborder flights use different gate areas, and the airport hosts US Customs and Border Protection preclearance for departures to the United States. Arriving passengers all finish on the ground-floor arrivals level beside baggage claim. Domestic arrivals are usually outside within 15 to 20 minutes; international passengers first clear the Canada Border Services Agency, which typically takes 20 to 45 minutes at Ottawa because long-haul traffic is lighter than at Toronto or Montreal.
Pickup point for pre-booked cars
Curbside pickup at YOW's designated commercial and pre-arranged vehicle area is the standard service. Collect your bags, contact the chauffeur using the number in your confirmation, and step out to the commercial curb, where the car comes forward. The chauffeur waits with the vehicle, not in the hall. For a greeting at the arrivals doors with a name board, which delegations and first-time visitors often prefer, add meet and greet during booking; add-ons are only available in selected locations.
Waiting time and flight delays

Queensway rush hours and winter snow can add 15 to 25 minutes. Parliament Hill security perimeters and Wellington Street closures sometimes change drop-off points; the chauffeur uses the nearest permitted curb.
Rail from Ottawa airport: O-Train Line 4
Since January 2025, O-Train Line 4 has linked a station at the terminal's departures level with South Keys, about eight minutes away. At South Keys you change to Line 2 (the Trillium Line), then again to Line 1 for downtown. The Canada Border Services Agency processes international arrivals, and visa-exempt visitors flying to Canada need an electronic Travel Authorization before boarding. Planning a departure from YOW
Ottawa is a compact airport, so a downtown pickup 90 minutes before a domestic flight is usually enough outside peak periods. For flights to the United States, which clear US preclearance in Ottawa, and for long-haul departures, leave about two and a half hours before take-off. From Kanata or Gatineau, add 20 minutes. Early-morning departures in January and February can meet fresh snow on the Airport Parkway, so allow extra time when the forecast is poor.
