A BlaakLane.com monthly chauffeur service reserves one named chauffeur and one vehicle class for a block of 40, 80, 120 or 220 hours each month. The hourly rate is the same as a single booking, from $155 CAD in a business sedan, and every price is all-in: taxes and a 20% gratuity are included. Unused hours and kilometres do not roll over.
What does a monthly chauffeur service include?
A monthly programme is a reservation of time, not a string of separate trips. You choose how many hours you want held each month and which vehicle class, and from the first day of the month that chauffeur and that car are planned around your diary. The block covers the chauffeur's working time within the city, the car, fuel and the first 150 km of each day. It also covers the parts of the job that never appear on a trip receipt: standby outside a meeting that runs long, the wait at the school gate, the loop around the block while you collect a parcel.
Each programme comes with:
- A named primary chauffeur and a trained backup who has already driven you, so a sick day or a holiday does not mean a stranger at the door.
- One vehicle class for the month, black, unbranded and four model years old or newer, replaced like for like if it is ever off the road.
- A single monthly invoice in CAD with every trip, hour and kilometre listed, ready for a cost centre or a household budget.
- One account manager and the same 24/7 dispatch desk in Toronto that runs every BlaakLane.com booking.
How the monthly blocks are priced
The block rate is simply the hourly rate multiplied by the hours you reserve. There is no discount and no premium for committing to a month: what you buy is certainty, because the hours, the chauffeur and the car are held for you before anyone else can book them.
| Block | Business sedan | First-class sedan | SUV Business | SUV First | Your own car |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 40 hours a month | $6,200 | $11,400 | $7,400 | $9,400 | $3,800 |
| 80 hours a month | $12,400 | $22,800 | $14,800 | $18,800 | $7,600 |
| 120 hours a month | $18,600 | $34,200 | $22,200 | $28,200 | $11,400 |
| 220 hours a month | $34,100 | $62,700 | $40,700 | $51,700 | $20,900 |
All figures are CAD and all-in: taxes and a 20% gratuity are included. The 220-hour block works out to ten-hour days, five days a week, for a typical month, which is what most people mean by a full-time chauffeur.
What sits outside the block
Three things are added to the monthly invoice at the price you would pay yourself, with nothing on top: highway tolls such as the 407 ETR, parking, and in-car Wi-Fi where you ask for a hotspot. Each day includes 150 km; beyond that, kilometres are $3 in a business sedan, $4 in either SUV and $8 in a first-class sedan. If a day runs long, that is fine: hours beyond the block are billed at the same hourly rate, so overtime never costs more than the block itself.
Unused hours and kilometres
Hours and kilometres do not roll over. A block is a reservation, and the reason it can be held for you on a busy Thursday in December is that the chauffeur is not being offered to anyone else in those hours. If your pattern changes, the account manager will suggest a smaller or larger block from the next month rather than let paid time go unused.
Working outside the city
A monthly chauffeur can travel with you. Hours worked outside the city of service are billed at the out-of-town rate, which is the hourly rate plus 50%, and the chauffeur's hotel and a flat $100 travel allowance are added when the trip calls for them. A Toronto client who spends a day at a plant in Kitchener or a weekend in Muskoka keeps the same chauffeur and car; the invoice simply shows those hours at the out-of-town rate. The same rule applies when our chauffeur is driving your own vehicle.
Who books a monthly chauffeur
Monthly service suits anyone who would otherwise book the same kind of car four or five times a week. In practice the clients fall into a dozen groups, and each one runs the month a little differently: the chief executive who needs a car outside the house at 7:15 every morning, the consulate that wants a protocol-trained chauffeur for the head of post, the touring artist whose day ends at 2 a.m., the family office that wants one trusted person to do the school runs and the airport. The cards below describe each group; the rate card is the same for all of them.
The chauffeur and the car
Every chauffeur on a monthly programme holds the licence required for passengers for hire in the city where they work, a clean driving abstract and a background check renewed every year. They are trained in defensive driving and passenger etiquette, and they know the part of the job a ride app cannot teach: when to offer the newspaper and when to say nothing at all. In Toronto, limousine owners and drivers are licensed by the city's Municipal Licensing and Standards division; the City of Toronto limousine owner licence page explains what that involves.
The car is chosen from four classes: a business sedan (Lexus ES, Cadillac CT5 or the electric Cadillac Lyriq), a first-class sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or Genesis G90), an SUV Business Class (Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator or GMC Yukon XL) or an SUV First Class (the long-wheelbase Escalade ESV, Navigator L, Yukon Denali or Cadillac Vistiq). Every vehicle is commercially insured, kept to four model years old or newer and checked for open safety recalls under the national framework published by Transport Canada. If you already own a car you like, a chauffeur for your own car works on the same monthly blocks from $3,800.
How to start a monthly programme
- Tell the desk the pattern. Typical start times, the addresses you visit most, the airports you use, the hours you expect and any security or privacy requirements.
- Choose the block and the class. If you are unsure, start at 80 hours: the trip log after the first month shows whether 40 or 120 is closer to the truth.
- Meet the chauffeur. Before the first day, your primary chauffeur and backup are introduced, by name and photo, and briefed on your preferences.
- Sign the agreement. It names the chauffeur, the vehicle class, the block, the billing date and, where you need one, a non-disclosure agreement.
The first month can start within days in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, including Mississauga, Vaughan and Oakville. In other cities, the desk confirms the chauffeur and vehicle through our vetted operator network before the agreement is signed.
Monthly service or single bookings?
If you need a car twice a month, book by the hour or point to point and keep the flexibility. If you need a car most working days, a block saves the friction of booking and, more importantly, gives you the same person every time. For a year-long commitment with a locked rate, see yearly chauffeur contracts; for the full price list in one place, see what a chauffeur costs in 2026. The trade body for chauffeured transportation, the National Limousine Association, publishes guidance on what to ask any operator before you sign.
Cancellations within a programme
Individual days inside a block can be moved freely with the account manager. For single bookings outside the block, the standard terms apply: more than 72 hours before pickup there is no charge; 72 hours or less, 10%; 48 hours or less, 50%; 24 hours or less, or a no-show, 100%.
