How is a Singapore chauffeur booked?

Open the reservation engine on this page or go to book. Enter the pickup (a Changi terminal, Seletar Airport, a hotel, a berth at the cruise centre, an office at Raffles Place), the destination, the date and time, and choose a vehicle. The engine shows one fixed fare for that trip before you confirm. There is no surge pricing when a storm breaks over the CBD at 6pm, and no meter.

Singapore's Electronic Road Pricing charges vehicles for using certain roads at busy times. Changi Airport: four terminals, one pickup plan

Singapore Changi sits at the eastern tip of the island, about 20 km from Marina Bay. It has four passenger terminals. Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are linked airside and landside by the Skytrain, and the Jewel complex, with its indoor waterfall, sits in front of Terminal 1. Terminal 4 stands apart on the south side of the airport and is linked to the others by a shuttle bus. A fifth terminal is under construction for the 2030s.

Which terminal you land at depends on the airline and can change, so we read it from your flight number. The chauffeur meets you at the designated pickup point for pre-arranged cars outside the arrivals hall of that terminal; this curbside pickup is standard. A name-board meet and greet inside the hall is an add-on, and add-ons are only available in selected locations. Changi is fast: immigration with automated lanes and baggage delivery often take 20 to 40 minutes, but our 60 included minutes cover a slow bag belt.

Drive times from Changi

The main route into the city is the East Coast Parkway along the coast or the Pan Island Expressway through the middle. Evening rush hour towards the east and heavy rain are the two things that stretch these times.

A Changi arrival, step by step

Here is how a typical arrival works on a BlaakLane.com booking. You add the flight number when you book. While you are in the air, the flight is tracked, and if it lands 40 minutes early or an hour late, the chauffeur's timing moves with it; the included 60 minutes of waiting starts at the actual landing time, not the scheduled one.

After landing, you pass immigration, collect bags and clear customs. Many travellers are through the automated lanes within 20 to 40 minutes. The chauffeur messages you with where they are waiting at the designated pickup point for your terminal, and you walk out to the car. If you bought the meet and greet add-on where it is offered, the chauffeur meets you in the arrivals hall with a name board instead.

From Terminals 1 to 3, you are usually on the East Coast Parkway within ten minutes and at a Marina Bay hotel within half an hour. From Terminal 4 the road out is slightly different, but the time to the city is similar. If your plans change mid-flight, for example a new hotel, the 24/7 desk updates the job and the chauffeur.

Seletar and private aviation

Business jets usually use Seletar Airport in the north-east, about 20 km from the CBD and typically a 25-35 minute drive. Its FBOs handle customs and immigration for private passengers, and the chauffeur is timed to the aircraft's actual arrival. Changi also takes business aviation traffic. Marina Bay Cruise Centre and the ferry terminals

Singapore is a major cruise home port. The Marina Bay Cruise Centre at Marina South takes the largest ships and is about 10 minutes from the CBD and 20-25 minutes from Changi, which makes fly-cruise days easy to plan. The older Singapore Cruise Centre at HarbourFront, opposite Sentosa, handles smaller cruise ships and regional ferries to Batam and the Riau Islands, while Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal in the east serves ferries to Bintan and Batam.

On embarkation days, the cruise centre's drop-off lanes fill between late morning and early afternoon. Choosing a vehicle for Singapore

Singapore roads are wide and well maintained, and most hotels and offices have covered drop-off areas, so any class works. From the fleet:

• Standard Sedan for one or two travellers with carry-on bags.
• Luxury Executive Sedan for senior executives and visiting principals.
• Executive SUV for families and anyone with several large cases.
• Standard Black SUV or Sprinter Van for teams moving between Changi and a Marina Bay hotel together.

All affiliate vehicles are four model years old or younger; Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley are accepted up to seven.

Road pricing and driving rules

Singapore drives on the left, like Malaysia, Japan and Hong Kong. The city manages traffic with road pricing rather than letting it jam. The long-running gantry-based ERP system is being replaced by ERP 2.0, which uses an on-board unit and satellite positioning; the Land Transport Authority has set 1 January 2027 as the date from which the on-board unit becomes mandatory for Singapore-registered vehicles, and the old gantries are being removed progressively. Charges vary by road and time of day and are published on the LTA's OneMotoring site. For you as a passenger none of this needs attention: the charges on the planned route are in the fixed fare.

Other local facts that shape the trip: speed cameras are common, stopping on double yellow lines is not allowed, so pickups happen at taxi stands, drop-off bays and building porches; and during the Singapore Grand Prix, roads around the Marina Bay Street Circuit close for several days.

• CBD and Marina Bay: Raffles Place, Marina Boulevard, Shenton Way and Tanjong Pagar, with the banks and regional headquarters.
• Orchard Road: retail, embassies and a dense cluster of hotels.
• Sentosa: resorts and Resorts World, connected by a causeway road.
• one-north and Buona Vista: research, technology and media firms.
• Changi Business Park and Jurong Lake District in the east and west.

Hotels include Raffles Hotel on Beach Road, Marina Bay Sands, The Fullerton, Mandarin Oriental and Capella on Sentosa, named as places only. Events that fill the city

• January or February: Chinese New Year; many businesses close for two days.
• February, in even-numbered years: the Singapore Airshow at the Changi Exhibition Centre.
• 9 August: National Day, with rehearsals and road closures in the weeks before.
• September or October: the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix night race around Marina Bay.
• November: the Singapore FinTech Festival, usually at Singapore EXPO.

Across the Causeway: Johor and Malaysia

Many trips cross into Malaysia. The Woodlands Checkpoint at the Causeway and the Tuas Checkpoint at the Second Link are the two road crossings; both can take 30 minutes to two hours or more on Friday evenings and public holidays. Singapore-registered vehicles entering Malaysia need Malaysia's Vehicle Entry Permit, and every passenger clears immigration on both sides. Cross-border trips are planned by a coordinator and confirmed in writing, including where the handover or the border wait happens.

Entry notes for Singapore arrivals

Most visitors, including US, UK, EU, Canadian and Australian citizens, can enter Singapore visa-free for short stays; other nationalities need a visa. Every traveller must submit the SG Arrival Card online within three days before arriving; see the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority. Singapore has strict import rules, including on e-cigarettes and vaporisers, which are banned, and on duty-free alcohol and tobacco allowances.
