Changi's terminals and Jewel
Changi has four passenger terminals, with a fifth, Terminal 5, under construction for the next decade. The Changi Airport site lists which airlines use each terminal.
- Terminal 1: directly linked to Jewel Changi Airport, the glass-domed complex with the Rain Vortex waterfall.
- Terminal 2: reopened after a major expansion and refurbishment.
- Terminal 3: the largest terminal, used by many Singapore Airlines flights.
- Terminal 4: a separate building served by a shuttle bus from Terminal 2, used by several Asian and low-cost carriers.
Terminals 1, 2 and 3 and Jewel are connected airside and landside by the Skytrain and walkways. Airline assignments can change, so the flight number in your booking tells the chauffeur which arrival hall to use.
Where the chauffeur meets you at Changi
Standard pickup is at the car pickup point designated for private and pre-booked vehicles at your terminal's arrival hall, which Changi signposts clearly. After immigration and bags, contact the chauffeur; they confirm the pickup point and door number and draw up as you arrive. The chauffeur does not wait inside the arrival hall by default.
For a greeting inside the arrival hall with a name board, add meet and greet. Add-ons are only available in selected locations, and the booking engine shows whether the add-on can be booked at your terminal and time.
Immigration and the SG Arrival Card
Singapore's immigration is among the fastest anywhere. Changi has rolled out automated, passport-free clearance lanes using facial and iris biometrics, and most arrivals are through in 5 to 20 minutes. All visitors except those exempted must submit the SG Arrival Card online through the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority within three days before arrival. Bags usually arrive within 15 to 20 minutes. Customs is strict on tobacco, e-cigarettes and vaporisers, which are banned, and on chewing gum imports.
International arrivals include 60 minutes of free waiting from the actual landing. Most passengers are in the car well within that time. If you need longer, message the chauffeur; extra time is billed in 15-minute blocks.
Drive times from Changi
Changi is at the eastern tip of the island, about 20 km from the Central Business District, linked by the East Coast Parkway (ECP) and the Pan Island Expressway (PIE). Singapore drives on the left, and roads are well managed, so journey times are fairly predictable.

Is the MRT faster than a car from Changi?
The MRT East-West Line branch runs from Changi Airport station (between Terminals 2 and 3) and, with a change at Tanah Merah, reaches the CBD in about 30 to 40 minutes; details are on the Land Transport Authority site. It is inexpensive and reliable, but trains stop around midnight, and carrying large bags through a change is tiring after a long flight. A chauffeur is the easier option with luggage, children, a group or an arrival after the last train.

Most Changi transfers end in a handful of areas. Marina Bay holds Marina Bay Sands, the Gardens by the Bay and the waterfront hotels. Raffles Place and Tanjong Pagar form the financial district, with the main bank towers. The Civic District around the Padang has Raffles Hotel and the National Gallery. Orchard Road is the long shopping boulevard lined with hotels. Sentosa, reached by a causeway, has resorts, beaches and Resorts World. Chinatown, Kampong Glam and Little India offer boutique hotels in shophouses, where the chauffeur may stop on the nearest main road if the lane is narrow.
Private jets at Seletar
