Marina Bay Cruise Centre opened in 2012 and handles most large-ship turnarounds, with a long baggage hall and a large forecourt for cars, taxis and coaches. Royal Caribbean, Resorts World Cruises, Norwegian, Princess and Celebrity are among the lines that have based ships here or called regularly. Singapore sees cruises all year, with a busy period from about November to March.
Embarkation: arriving at MBCCS
The chauffeur drives along Marina Coastal Drive to the terminal and stops at the private-car set-down point under the canopy. Porters take tagged cases to the baggage drop. Check-in windows are staggered by deck or loyalty tier; arrive near the start of yours. Port-day private tours in Singapore
An hourly chauffeur for three hours or more keeps the car with you. Useful plans:
- Bay and gardens. Gardens by the Bay's conservatories and the Supertree Grove are minutes from the terminal.
- Heritage quarters. Chinatown, Kampong Glam and Little India, with stops at the temples and the Sultan Mosque.
- Botanic Gardens and Orchard. The UNESCO-listed Botanic Gardens and National Orchid Garden, then Orchard Road.
- Sentosa and the Southern Ridges. A half day across the island to the west.

Why not take the MRT to the ship?
The nearest MRT station, Marina South Pier on the North-South Line, is a walk of several minutes from the cruise centre, and the route involves kerbs, lifts and a covered walkway rather than a door-to-door drop. With two or three large cases each, a car that stops under the terminal canopy is far easier, and on a hot, humid afternoon it saves arriving at check-in tired. It also removes the change of trains that most routes from Changi need.
Road rules and ERP charges
Singapore drives on the left and charges for road use through Electronic Road Pricing gantries at busy times; ERP charges on your route are passed on at actual cost as an addition to the booking. The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore regulates port operations. Trips across the Causeway or Second Link into Malaysia involve border checks on both sides and must be requested in advance.
