What is included in a Dubai fare?
The price you accept covers:
- Waiting: 60 minutes after an international landing (which is nearly every flight into Dubai), 30 minutes on domestic flights and 15 minutes at hotels, homes and offices, then 15-minute blocks.

Airport parking and pickup fees at DXB and DWC, and gratuity, are not in the fare; they are charged at actual cost and added to the booking. Dubai's ten Salik gates on Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road, Al Maktoum Bridge, Al Garhoud Bridge and elsewhere use variable pricing introduced in January 2025: a higher rate in weekday morning and evening peaks, a lower rate at other times and no charge in the early hours.

The vehicle-age rule applies here too: four model years or younger, with Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley accepted up to seven. Dubai's summer heat, often above 40 degrees Celsius from June to September, makes that rule practical as well as cosmetic, because newer cars cool the cabin properly before you step in.
Dubai International (DXB): terminals and pickup
Dubai International has three passenger terminals. Terminal 3 is the Emirates hub, with Concourses A, B and C, and handles most long-haul arrivals. Terminal 1 serves the majority of other international airlines, and Terminal 2, on the airport's northeast side, is used mainly by flydubai and several regional carriers. The airport sits close to the city, around 15 to 30 minutes from Downtown Dubai and DIFC, 30 to 50 minutes from Dubai Marina and 35 to 55 minutes from Palm Jumeirah.
Standard collection is curbside at the designated pickup area for pre-booked cars and limousines outside your terminal's arrivals hall; your confirmation specifies the door and zone. A name-board meet and greet inside the hall is an add-on, and add-ons are only available in selected locations. Passport control and baggage at Terminal 3 can be quick in the small hours and slow during the late-evening bank of arrivals from Europe, which is why the 60-minute wait starts only when you land. Al Maktoum International (DWC) and private aviation
Al Maktoum International, also called Dubai World Central, lies in Jebel Ali and Dubai South, roughly 40 to 60 minutes from Downtown and 25 to 40 minutes from Dubai Marina or Palm Jebel Ali. It currently handles a smaller schedule of passenger flights, cargo and a large share of business aviation, and the government has announced a long-term expansion that is planned to make it Dubai's main airport over the coming years. Visas and arrival formalities in the UAE
Many nationalities receive a visa on arrival or visa-free entry to the UAE, while others must apply in advance. Rules change, so check your passport with the UAE's official immigration authority or your airline before travel. Smart gates at DXB let eligible and registered travellers clear passport control quickly. Keep in mind that the UAE takes customs rules on medications seriously; carry prescriptions for anything controlled. Ramadan moves by about eleven days each year. During the holy month, working hours shorten, traffic peaks shift to the hour before sunset, and evenings become busy; book a little earlier for iftar invitations.
Cruise terminals: Mina Rashid and Dubai Harbour
Dubai is one of the Gulf's main cruise home ports, with the season running mainly from late autumn to spring. Most large ships use the Hamdan bin Mohammed Cruise Terminal at Mina Rashid, near Bur Dubai, about 15 to 25 minutes from DXB. The Dubai Harbour Cruise Terminal, between Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah, also receives ships. Passengers flying in on embarkation day should allow generous time for DXB immigration. Cruise luggage fits best in an executive SUV or Standard Black SUV. Crew changes and ship agent work run through shipping crew change.
Metro and rail links
Dubai Metro's Red Line connects DXB Terminals 1 and 3 with Deira, Downtown, DIFC, the Marina and Expo City, and the Green Line runs through the older districts around the creek; a Blue Line is under construction. Metro stations are useful for crowds, but most visitors with luggage or a dress code prefer a car. At a national level, Etihad Rail has begun passenger services across the UAE in 2026, with a Dubai station at Jumeirah Golf Estates announced as part of the rollout; we can meet trains there as stations open. The Dubai to Sharjah corridor is one of the region's most congested at rush hour, so we time those pickups carefully. Driving in Dubai: tolls, speed limits and the weekend
Cars drive on the right. Speed cameras are everywhere, and our affiliates follow posted limits, which reach 120 km/h or more on the main highways. Salik gates are automatic, so there is no stopping at a booth. The UAE working week runs Monday to Friday with a shorter Friday for many offices, and Saturday and Sunday are the weekend, which moves the busiest shopping and beach traffic to those days. Summer sandstorms and rare heavy rain can slow traffic sharply; dispatch will warn you if a journey needs extra time.
