One terminal, three arrival areas
YVR's main terminal on Sea Island has three sections: domestic, international and US (transborder). Domestic and international arrivals come out on the arrivals level in different halls, and flights from the United States arrive into the international arrivals area. The South Terminal, a separate small building, handles regional flights on smaller aircraft.
Where is the pickup at YVR?
The standard pickup is curbside at the designated commercial and pre-arranged vehicle area outside the arrivals level of your hall, signposted from the exit doors. YVR separates commercial pickups from private cars, and the chauffeur texts the door number once you are through customs or at baggage claim. That curbside meeting is the service included in the fare.
Meet and greet inside the arrivals hall with a name board is an add-on. Add-ons are only available in selected locations; the booker shows whether it applies to your flight. Travellers arriving from Asia after a long overnight flight often choose it.
Customs and arrival timing
International passengers, including those arriving from the US, go through Canada Border Services Agency inspection using primary inspection kiosks. Allow 30 to 80 minutes from touchdown to the curb; the early-morning bank of trans-Pacific arrivals and the summer cruise season are busiest. Visitors who are visa-exempt (other than US citizens) need an eTA before flying to Canada.
The chauffeur tracks your flight and waits 60 minutes from the actual landing on international and US arrivals, and 30 minutes on domestic Canadian flights, both included. Additional waiting is charged in 15-minute blocks.

The Sea-to-Sky Highway to Whistler is scenic and well built, but in winter it needs winter tyres by law between October and March, and snow can slow the upper section. BC's DriveBC reports road conditions.
The Canada Line
The Canada Line SkyTrain runs from YVR-Airport station, between the domestic and international terminals, to Waterfront station downtown in about 26 minutes, every few minutes for most of the day. TransLink runs the network. It is the quickest option for a light traveller staying near a downtown station; with cruise luggage, skis or a destination on the North Shore, Whistler or in the suburbs, a car removes the transfers. Cruises from Canada Place
Canada Place is the home port for most Alaska cruises, and the season usually runs from late April or May to October. On a busy Saturday several ships turn around at once, and the roads around the terminal are congested. Book the pickup with Canada Place as the destination and land by late morning for a same-day sailing. Whistler, film and events
Whistler Blackcomb's ski season usually runs from late November to April, and many YVR arrivals head straight up the Sea-to-Sky; a one-way ski transfer is booked as an intercity transfer. Vancouver is also a major film and television production centre, and the Vancouver International Film Festival usually runs in late September and October. Destination Vancouver lists events.

Driving in Metro Vancouver
Vancouver has no urban freeway through downtown, so trips from YVR end on city streets such as Granville, Oak and Burrard, where traffic lights and the morning and evening peaks set the pace. The bridges are the pinch points: the Arthur Laing and Oak Street bridges into the city, and the Lions Gate and Ironworkers Memorial bridges to the North Shore. The region is also rainy from November to March, which slows traffic, and the chauffeur allows for it in departure timings. Metro Vancouver has no road tolls on its bridges today.
What the fare includes, and cancellation
Your fixed fare includes the vehicle, the chauffeur, the route and the included waiting. Child seats are free on request. The rates page has planning ranges by class. Cancel more than 72 hours before pickup for free; within 72 hours the charge is 10%, within 48 hours 50%, and within 24 hours or for a no-show 100%.
Departures, US preclearance and other cities
Flights to the United States clear US preclearance at YVR before boarding, so allow at least two and a half to three hours for a US or international departure.
