FBOs on Sea Island
Vancouver International sits on Sea Island in Richmond, about 15 km south of downtown. Business aircraft are handled away from the domestic and international terminals, at FBOs that include Million Air Vancouver and Signature Aviation, with Skyservice Business Aviation also operating a facility at the airport. The buildings are spread around the south and west sides of the field with separate road access, so the FBO name is important.
Where you meet the chauffeur
The standard meeting point is the FBO's landside entrance. Bags come off the aircraft with the line crew and go straight into the car. You can ask for a planeside pickup when you book; whether it happens is decided by the FBO under YVR's airside rules and by your aircraft operator, and at busy times it is often not allowed. We relay the request with the vehicle and chauffeur details and confirm the answer.
CBSA and entry documents
Private flights from the United States, Asia or Europe clear the Canada Border Services Agency at the FBO, with the operator giving advance notice. Passengers present passports and declarations before walking out. Visitors who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents need the correct entry document, such as a visa or an eTA for visa-exempt travellers arriving by air. We include 60 minutes of waiting from the actual landing after an international flight and 30 minutes after a domestic one, then 15-minute blocks.

The Lions Gate Bridge and the Massey Tunnel are the usual pinch points. Winter tyres or chains are required on the Sea-to-Sky Highway and many other BC routes from 1 October to 31 March; current conditions are on DriveBC.
Whistler, cruises and ferries
Three onward trips account for most YVR private arrivals. Whistler skiers go straight up the Sea-to-Sky Highway; book an SUV for skis and snow and see Whistler chauffeur service. Alaska cruise passengers board at Canada Place between spring and autumn and should allow for the cruise line's embarkation cut-off. Guests heading to Vancouver Island or the Gulf Islands often take BC Ferries from Tsawwassen or Horseshoe Bay, or switch to a floatplane at the Vancouver Harbour Flight Centre.
Luggage and vehicle size
A Standard Black SUV or Executive Black SUV carries six passengers with six bags; four skiers with gear is a realistic load. A Sprinter Van seats 12 with 12 small bags, useful for cruise groups and film crews. The Sprinter Luxury Jet Van seats seven with carry-on only. Film productions and discretion
Vancouver is one of North America's busiest screen-production centres, so FBO arrivals often include cast members and producers. Bookings can use initials or production codes, name boards are shown only on request, and chauffeurs do not share trip details. Busy seasons
The cruise season from April to October, the winter ski season, and large conventions at the Vancouver Convention Centre fill FBO ramps and downtown streets. The Celebration of Light fireworks at English Bay, usually in late July and early August, close roads in the West End. Destination Vancouver lists upcoming events.
Crew cars
Crews usually stay in Richmond, 10 to 15 minutes away, or downtown. Add a crew car to the same booking, timed to the same landing, and schedule it ahead of the passengers on departure day.
Fare and cancellation
The fare covers the vehicle, the chauffeur and the route to your address, and hourly bookings start at three hours. Planning ranges are on the rates page. There is no fee for cancelling more than 72 hours before pickup; 10% applies at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show.
