Why the 407 matters for Markham to Pearson
From most of Markham, the fastest line to Toronto Pearson is Highway 407 ETR west to Highway 427 or Highway 401. The 407 is an all-electronic toll road with no booths: cameras and transponders record each trip and the charge varies by distance, zone and time of day. Pickups at Pearson Terminal 1 and Terminal 3
Pearson has two passenger terminals. Tell us the flight and dispatch matches the right one. The GO Transit Stouffville line runs through Markham with stations at Milliken, Unionville, Centennial, Markham and Mount Joy, and Viva rapid buses run on Highway 7. Leaving Markham for an early flight
Pearson suggests arriving three hours before international and US departures. From Markham Centre, a pickup about three and a half hours before a long-haul flight covers the 407 drive, check-in, security and, for US flights, US preclearance. Before 6 a.m. the 407 is usually clear and the drive can take under 35 minutes; on a winter morning after snowfall, allow extra. If the airline moves your flight, change the pickup time in the booking and dispatch follows the new time.
