Savannah/Hilton Head International (SAV): arrivals and pickup
SAV operates a single terminal on the northwest edge of the city, off I-95 at exit 104. All gates sit on one concourse, and baggage claim is on the lower level. Pre-arranged cars pick up at the airport's designated commercial pickup area outside baggage claim; the chauffeur sends the vehicle description and exact spot once your flight is on the ground. A name-board meet and greet at the carousel is an add-on, and add-ons are only available in selected locations.
Flight tracking is standard, so the car is timed to the real landing. Included waiting is 60 minutes on international arrivals, 30 minutes on domestic flights and 15 minutes on other pickups, then billed in 15-minute blocks. The run downtown is about 10 miles and usually takes 20 to 25 minutes via I-95 and I-16, or Dean Forest Road and Bay Street. Where people actually go: the squares, River Street and beyond
Most visitors stay inside the Historic District, the 1733 grid of Oglethorpe's plan with its 22 surviving squares. River Street and Factors Walk run along the Savannah River, Broughton Street carries the shops, and Forsyth Park anchors the south end. The Plant Riverside District at the west end of River Street, the Perry Lane Hotel, The Mansion on Forsyth Park, the Hyatt Regency on Bay Street and the Westin Savannah Harbor across the river are the addresses chauffeurs hear most. Beyond downtown, the Starland District, Midtown, Ardsley Park, the Landings on Skidaway Island and Wilmington Island are common pickups.

Convention centre and venues
The Savannah Convention Center sits on Hutchinson Island, reached from downtown by the Talmadge Memorial Bridge; a free ferry also crosses from River Street. Its recent expansion added a large exhibit hall and a riverfront arena, which means bigger events and more group moves. The Johnny Mercer Theatre, the Lucas Theatre on Abercorn Street and the Enmarket Arena on the west side host concerts and shows. For attendee shuttles or board dinners across the river, event transportation covers multi-vehicle planning, and teams bill through corporate accounts.
Savannah events by month
- March: the St. Patrick's Day parade, one of the largest in the country, closes much of downtown. Book early and expect drop points outside the parade route.
- March and April: the Savannah Music Festival fills downtown venues.

The Port of Savannah and crew changes
The Garden City Terminal and the Ocean Terminal make Savannah one of the busiest container ports in the United States, run by the Georgia Ports Authority. Savannah does not operate as a regular cruise homeport, but ship crews rotate constantly. Crew changes between SAV and the terminals, with port access paperwork checked in advance, are handled under shipping crew change and planned by a coordinator.
Rail at Savannah
The Amtrak station sits on Seaboard Coastline Drive west of downtown, about 4 miles from the Historic District, and is served by trains on the New York to Florida corridor. Trains can arrive late at night; the chauffeur tracks the train and waits at the station front.

- Charleston: about 110 miles on US-17 and I-95, roughly 2 hours.
- Hilton Head Island: 45 miles, under an hour off-peak.
- Jacksonville: about 140 miles on I-95, 2 to 2.5 hours.
- Atlanta: about 250 miles on I-16 and I-75, 4 hours or more.
- Augusta: about 130 miles, 2 to 2.5 hours, popular during the Masters in April.

Driving realities and arrivals
Savannah drives on the right, with no toll roads on the usual routes. I-95 slows near the I-16 interchange at rush hour and on summer beach weekends, and the single causeway to Tybee backs up on holidays. Summer thunderstorms arrive fast in the afternoon; hurricane season runs June to November. International arrivals at SAV are few, and passengers from abroad usually clear US Customs and Border Protection at their first US airport.
