Freeways and the harbour approach
The route from LAX to San Pedro usually follows I-405 south to I-110, the Harbor Freeway, which ends almost at the terminal. On weekday mornings the 405 near the airport and through the South Bay is slow, and the 110 carries heavy truck traffic bound for the container terminals. From Long Beach, the Vincent Thomas Bridge crosses the main channel straight into San Pedro; from Orange County, the chauffeur picks between the 405, the 710 and the 110 on the day. Events at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, close to LAX, can slow the airport area on game days.
