How Tampa International is laid out
TPA uses a hub-and-spoke design. Passengers arrive at one of the airsides and ride an automated shuttle a short distance to the Main Terminal, where baggage claim and ground transportation are. Airsides A, C, E and F are in service, and a new Airside D is being built. Most international flights use Airside F, which houses the customs facility. SkyConnect, a separate automated train, links the Main Terminal with the rental car centre and economy garage.

Where is the TPA pickup?
The standard pickup is curbside at the commercial ground transportation area TPA assigns to pre-arranged vehicles, below baggage claim in the Main Terminal. The terminal is split into a Red side and a Blue side; your chauffeur will tell you which side and which door once you have your bags. Please text or call before walking out, because cars stage nearby and come forward on request.
A greeting in baggage claim with a name board is available as meet and greet. Add-ons are only available in selected locations.
Flight tracking and free waiting
Pickup timing follows the actual landing. Domestic arrivals include 30 minutes of free waiting; international arrivals through Airside F include 60 minutes, which covers most customs queues. Extra time is billed in 15-minute blocks after that.

Cruise transfers to Port Tampa Bay
Port Tampa Bay's cruise terminals are in the Channel District, about 15 to 25 minutes from TPA. On embarkation days the terminal roads fill up from late morning, so book a pickup that allows for bag drop and check-in times. Transit and rail
There is no passenger rail station at TPA. HART buses run between the airport and downtown Tampa; timetables are on gohart.org. Travellers heading to Orlando often choose a direct car, since the drive is under two hours outside the peaks.

The Gasparilla Pirate Festival parade usually takes over Bayshore Boulevard in late January, and spring training brings baseball fans to the Tampa Bay area from February into March. Bridges, tolls and weather around Tampa Bay
Three bridges connect Tampa with Pinellas County: the Howard Frankland on I-275, the Gandy Bridge and the Courtney Campbell Causeway. Crashes on any of them can add 20 minutes or more, so the chauffeur switches routes when needed. The Selmon Expressway through downtown Tampa and the Sunshine Skyway south toward Bradenton and Sarasota are toll roads.
Summer brings short, heavy afternoon thunderstorms that can pause ramp operations at TPA and slow the roads for half an hour. Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30. If a storm threatens, airlines often change schedules at short notice; message the desk with any new flight and we will move the booking. If flights are cancelled outright, cancellation charges are handled under the standard policy.
