BlaakLane.com books Courchevel Altiport car service at a fixed fare, including the long mountain run from the jet airports at Geneva and Chambery. Enter the flight or helicopter details and the chalet address, and the chauffeur is timed to the real landing. Pickup outside the altiport building is standard; any meeting at the aircraft needs approval from the altiport and the operator.
How do I book a car at the Courchevel Altiport?
On the reservation engine or the book page, choose Courchevel Altiport as the pickup, enter the helicopter or aircraft registration, and type the chalet, hotel or residence in Courchevel 1850, Moriond, Village or Le Praz. Select a vehicle and the fare appears: it is the total for that address, date and car. If your jet lands at Geneva or Chambery and you are driving up rather than taking a helicopter, book that airport as the pickup instead; the same fixed-fare rule applies to the full mountain transfer.
The desk in Toronto handles bookings 24/7. In Savoie the trip is driven by a vetted local affiliate from the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network, contracted to the BlaakLane.com written standard, and your confirmation names the operator, the chauffeur and the vehicle.
What makes the altiport different
Courchevel Altiport sits at about 2,000 metres, above Courchevel 1850 and alongside the ski pistes. Its runway is very short, roughly 500 metres, and steeply sloped, so only specially trained pilots flying small turboprops, piston aircraft and helicopters use it. No business jet lands here. The usual pattern is a jet into Geneva, Chambery or Lyon, then a helicopter up to the altiport or a chauffeured drive the whole way.
There is no chain FBO. The altiport's own staff handle arrivals, and the building is small enough that the walk from the helicopter pad or the apron to the car is short. The Courchevel Altiport article on Wikipedia explains the slope and the certification rules.
Altiport pickup and the ramp question
The standard meeting point is outside the altiport building, where the access road ends. Bags come off the aircraft with the handling staff. If you need the car beside the aircraft or the helipad, say so at booking. We pass the chauffeur's details and plate to the altiport and your operator, and it only happens if both approve. On winter weekends with a queue of helicopters, expect the door rather than the ramp.

Jet arrivals in the valley: drive times up
Most guests fly into a jet-capable airport and drive. Book that field as the pickup and the chauffeur meets you at its FBO or general aviation terminal.
| Jet airport | Typical drive to Courchevel 1850 | Winter Saturday |
|---|---|---|
| Chambery Savoie Mont Blanc | 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours | 2 hours 30 minutes or more |
| Geneva | 2 hours 15 minutes to 2 hours 45 minutes | 3 hours 30 minutes to 4 hours |
| Lyon Saint-Exupery | 2 hours 15 minutes to 2 hours 45 minutes | 3 hours 30 minutes or more |
| Grenoble Alpes-Isere | 2 hours to 2 hours 30 minutes | Longer on changeover days |
Saturday is changeover day across the Tarentaise valley and the N90 from Albertville to Moutiers carries most of the traffic. The French government traffic service Bison Fute publishes red and black days for the ski season. Where we can, we suggest an early morning or late evening transfer to miss the worst of it.
Border and customs formalities
The altiport is not a border crossing point. International arrivals from outside the Schengen area clear passport control and customs at the jet airport, usually Geneva or Chambery, before the helicopter or car leg to Courchevel. Geneva is a special case because the airport has a French sector and a Swiss sector; the flight department decides which side you use. See the Geneva FBO page for more.
Winter driving rules in Savoie
Savoie is covered by the French mountain law, which requires cars in the department's mountain areas to carry winter tyres or snow chains from 1 November to 31 March. Roads to 1850 are cleared early, but a fresh fall can close the upper bends for a short time. Chauffeurs driving the altiport run know the roads and when to fit chains. We ask for the chalet name and the access instructions because many drives are private, icy and poorly signed.
Skis, boots and heavy luggage
A week in Courchevel for a family can mean several ski bags, boot bags and large suitcases. The Standard Black SUV and Executive Black SUV seat six with six bags, which in winter works best for four passengers with skis. Larger families or a chalet party should book two SUVs, or a Sprinter Van with 12 seats and 12 small bags. Many guests rent skis in the resort and send luggage ahead, which makes a sedan workable. Note oversized items when you book.
Choosing a vehicle class
- Executive Black SUV: the standard car for Courchevel; four-wheel drive, room for kit, and a quiet cabin on the long valley climb.
- Standard Black SUV: the practical choice for families and chalet staff runs.
- Executive First Class Sedan (Maybach): evening dinners inside 1850 once the roads are clear.
- Luxury Executive Sedan: a guest travelling light from the altiport to a hotel.
- Sprinter Van or Sprinter Luxury Jet Van: chalet groups, corporate incentives and ski crews; the Jet Van seats seven with carry-on only.

Privacy in 1850
Courchevel 1850 is small and its famous hotels sit a few hundred metres apart. Chauffeurs do not hold name boards at the altiport unless asked, do not discuss who they are driving, and can use chalet service entrances. For principals with close protection, secure transportation is planned by a coordinator and confirmed in writing.
Season, waiting and the fare
The resort runs from early December to mid-April, with peaks at Christmas, New Year, February school holidays and Easter. The official Courchevel site lists the lift opening dates. The flight is followed live, and the chauffeur is timed to the moment you actually land. Included waiting is 60 minutes from landing on an international arrival and 30 minutes on a domestic leg; after that, 15-minute blocks. Hourly bookings run a minimum of three hours. Planning ranges are on the rates page.
