How do I book a car at Hobby's FBOs?
In the reservation engine on this page or the book page, choose William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) as the pickup and mention that you are on a private aircraft. The notes field should carry the FBO, the tail number or charter reference, and the lead passenger's mobile. Enter the destination, pick a vehicle class, and the fare is fixed before you commit, whatever the traffic on I-45 is doing.

Hobby Airport's business aviation side
William P. Hobby Airport is Houston's older airport, about seven miles southeast of downtown, and part of the city's Houston Airport System along with George Bush Intercontinental. Airline flights use the central terminal, which gained an international concourse in 2015. Business aviation uses FBO buildings on the edges of the field, reached from the surrounding streets rather than the terminal loop. A short history is on Wikipedia. Signature, Million Air and Jet Aviation
Hobby has three FBOs that most flight departments use: Signature Aviation, Million Air and Jet Aviation. They have separate entrances and car areas, so the name matters. We list them as places we drive to; none is a BlaakLane.com partner, and each sets its own rules for chauffeured cars and ramp access.
FBO entrance or aircraft side?
By default the chauffeur waits at the FBO's front entrance in the spot staff assign. Planeside pickup can be arranged only when the FBO and the aircraft operator both approve ramp access for that vehicle and chauffeur, and only for that visit. If you want it, say so in the booking and we will ask; you will know the answer before the day. We do not promise it. Without it, line staff bring the bags through the lobby to the car, which is usually a walk of a minute or two.
International arrivals and customs
Private flights from Mexico, Latin America or overseas must clear U.S. Customs and Border Protection; manifests have to be submitted ahead of departure. Your FBO and flight department will confirm where the flight clears and how long it usually takes at your arrival hour. Passengers and crew keep their passports and deal with CBP directly; the chauffeur is not involved and waits outside. The included 60 minutes of international waiting starts at arrival.

The Sam Houston Tollway and Hardy Toll Road are run by the Harris County Toll Road Authority. Loop 610 and I-45 are the usual bottlenecks; the fixed fare does not change with the route.
Medical Center and energy-sector trips
A good share of Hobby's private traffic is patients and families heading to the Texas Medical Center, and executives visiting energy companies. For medical visits, give the building or clinic name and whether a wheelchair or extra time at the door is needed; the chauffeur will use the correct patient drop-off. For energy teams moving between downtown, the Energy Corridor and a site visit, hourly chauffeur service, minimum three hours, keeps the same car all day.
Rodeo, OTC and the Houston calendar
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo usually runs from late February through March at NRG Park, CERAWeek usually brings energy leaders downtown in March, and the Offshore Technology Conference is usually held at NRG Park in May. Astros, Texans and Rockets games add evening traffic through the year. On those dates FBOs and roads are busy; book both legs early. Weather: heat, storms and hurricane season
Houston summers are hot and humid, with heavy afternoon storms that can close streets with standing water for a while. Hurricane season in the Atlantic runs from June through November. Flight tracking lets the chauffeur follow delays and diversions, and when a flight moves to another airfield, tell us and dispatch will reroute the car.
Matching the vehicle to the trip
For one or two passengers heading downtown or to River Oaks, the Luxury Executive Sedan and the Executive First Class Sedan (Maybach) each carry two passengers and two bags. A family arriving for treatment at the Medical Center, with several suitcases, fits an Executive Black SUV or Standard Black SUV (six and six). A drilling or engineering team with kit bags can share a Sprinter Van (12 passengers, 12 small bags), and an investor group with carry-ons only suits the Sprinter Luxury Jet Van (7 passengers). A Standard Sedan handles a single pilot going to a hotel. What does the fare include?
Your fare is locked to the address, date, time and vehicle you chose. Included waiting is 60 minutes after an international arrival and 30 minutes after a domestic one, then 15-minute blocks. Child seats are free on request. There is no charge for cancelling more than 72 hours before pickup; inside 72 hours it is 10%, inside 48 hours 50%, and inside 24 hours or for a no-show 100%.
