The business aviation side of Trudeau
Montreal-Trudeau International sits in Dorval, on the island of Montreal, about 20 km west of downtown. It is run by Aéroports de Montréal. Private aircraft use FBOs separate from the passenger terminal: Skyservice Business Aviation operates a 24-hour FBO alongside its large-cabin maintenance hangar, and Signature Aviation runs a second FBO with on-site customs coordination. Tell us which one you are using; they have different addresses and parking.
FBO door or aircraft side?
The chauffeur waits at your FBO's entrance as standard, parked in the customer area. A planeside meeting can be requested at booking; it happens only if the FBO's airside procedures and your aircraft operator approve it for that arrival, and busy days or winter deicing can rule it out. We send the chauffeur's name, the plate and the vehicle and confirm what the FBO agreed.
CBSA clearance at a Montreal FBO
International private flights clear the Canada Border Services Agency at the FBO, arranged in advance by the operator. Officers check passports and declarations before passengers leave the building, and foreign nationals need the right entry documents, such as a visa or an eTA. Included waiting runs from the actual landing: 60 minutes for international arrivals and 30 minutes for domestic flights, then 15-minute blocks.

Montreal's roadworks are extensive, especially on the Turcot interchange corridor and the bridges, and routes change often. Current closures are on Québec 511. The fare is fixed regardless of the detour.
Winter in Montreal
Quebec requires winter tyres on passenger vehicles from 1 December to 15 March, and heavy snow, freezing rain and deicing queues are normal from December to March. Because the chauffeur tracks the aircraft, a late arrival simply moves the pickup. If a storm diverts the flight to Ottawa, Mirabel or Quebec City, that is a new pickup address, and the desk confirms a new fixed fare before the car leaves.
Luggage, skis and event cases
A Standard Black SUV or Executive Black SUV carries six passengers with six bags. For Mont-Tremblant ski weekends, four skiers with gear per SUV is realistic. Grand Prix, festivals and conference weeks
The Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve is now held in late May, and it is the busiest private aviation weekend of the year at YUL: ramp space is allocated early and planeside requests are rarely approved. Summer brings the jazz and comedy festivals in late June and July, and the convention centre, Palais des congrès, hosts large medical and aerospace meetings through the year. Language and local practice
Road signs in Quebec are in French, and many guests are greeted in French first. Tell us your preferred language in the notes; the affiliate assigns a bilingual chauffeur where possible. Bookings for government and diplomatic visitors, of which Montreal receives many because of its international organisations, can follow the government and diplomatic programme.
Crew transport
Crews laying over at YUL often stay at hotels in Dorval, five to ten minutes away, or downtown for longer stops. Add the crew car to the same booking so both vehicles follow one landing, and schedule it ahead of the passengers on departure day.
Keeping the arrival private
