Scottsdale Airport and the Airpark
Scottsdale Airport is owned and run by the City of Scottsdale and sits about nine miles north of Old Town, surrounded by the Scottsdale Airpark, one of the largest business districts in the Phoenix area, with offices, showrooms and hangar homes on taxiways. Pickup at the door or on the ramp
The standard meeting point is the FBO's front entrance, in the parking area its staff assign to chauffeured cars. Golf, the Phoenix Open and auction week
Scottsdale's busiest private-jet weeks follow its calendar. The Barrett-Jackson collector car auction is usually held in January at WestWorld, a few minutes from the runway. The WM Phoenix Open usually runs in early February at TPC Scottsdale, also next door to the airport. Cactus League spring training fills the ballparks from late February through March, and resort golf peaks from January to April. On those dates, book early, book both legs, and consider hourly chauffeur service with a minimum of three hours for days that move between the course, lunch and a hotel. Which car for a Scottsdale arrival?
A couple going to a Paradise Valley resort usually takes a Luxury Executive Sedan or an Executive First Class Sedan (Maybach), each for two passengers and two bags. A golf foursome with clubs needs an Executive Black SUV or Standard Black SUV at the least, six passengers and six bags, and often a second vehicle for the bags alone. A corporate retreat that fills a midsize jet fits a Sprinter Van for 12 with small bags, and guests going straight to a hospitality tent with nothing but carry-ons can take the Sprinter Luxury Jet Van for seven. For a crew member heading to an Airpark hotel, a Standard Sedan does the job.
