Most guests land at PHX because of the wider choice of flights. The route is I-17 north through the Verde Valley, then SR 179 past the Village of Oak Creek into town.

The 14-mile stretch of SR 89A between Sedona and Flagstaff runs through Oak Creek Canyon and climbs a series of tight switchbacks to the Mogollon Rim. It is one of the most scenic roads in Arizona and one of the slowest. Flagstaff sits near 7,000 feet, and snow can close the switchbacks or slow I-17 between November and March; chauffeurs then take I-17 rather than the canyon, which adds time.
