Terminal 3 or Terminal 4?
Sky Harbor now has two passenger terminals. Terminal 2 closed in 2020.
- Terminal 4 is the larger, used by Southwest and American Airlines and by most international flights. It has eight concourses (N1 to S4).
- Terminal 3 handles the other domestic airlines and some transborder services, with a modernised north and south concourse.
The PHX Sky Train links both terminals, the Rental Car Center shuttle stop and the 44th Street station for Valley Metro Rail, so walking between terminals is not necessary.
Where your chauffeur meets you
The standard pickup is curbside on the commercial ground transportation roadway outside baggage claim, on Level 1 at each terminal, in the area for limousines and pre-arranged vehicles. Commercial and private cars are kept apart at Sky Harbor, and signs from baggage claim direct you to the commercial curb. The chauffeur sends the door number by text as soon as you land.
If you want the chauffeur waiting inside baggage claim with a name board, select meet and greet as an add-on. Add-ons are only available in selected locations, and the booker confirms availability for your time.
International arrivals and customs
International flights, mostly from Mexico, Canada and the UK, arrive at Terminal 4, where US Customs and Border Protection processes passengers. Plan on 25 to 60 minutes from landing to the curb; the customs hall is smaller than at the coastal gateways, and queues are usually shorter. Global Entry and Mobile Passport Control are available.
After an international landing, the chauffeur waits 60 minutes from touchdown at no charge; after a domestic landing, 30 minutes. Extra time is billed in 15-minute blocks.

Rail alternatives
The PHX Sky Train connects the terminals to Valley Metro Rail at the 44th Street/Washington station. From there the light rail runs west to downtown Phoenix and east to Tempe and Mesa. Valley Metro publishes schedules. It works for a light traveller going downtown or to ASU; Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and the north Valley resorts are not on the rail line, and there is no intercity passenger train from the airport.

Longer runs: Sedona, Tucson and the Grand Canyon
Sky Harbor is the usual gateway for northern Arizona. The drive to Sedona climbs I-17 from the desert floor to about 4,300 feet, passing the Verde Valley; allow two to two and a half hours and a stop at Camp Verde if travelling with children. The Grand Canyon's South Rim is about three and a half to four hours via Flagstaff and Williams, and many visitors book it as a one-way intercity transfer with a fixed fare. Tucson, roughly 115 miles south on I-10, takes one hour 45 minutes to two hours. For a day trip that returns the same evening, book hourly so the chauffeur stays with you.
Heat, monsoon and dust storms
From June to September the Valley is very hot, and the summer monsoon, usually July to September, brings sudden storms and dust walls known as haboobs. Arizona's official advice in a dust storm is to pull off the road and wait, and chauffeurs follow it, so allow slack in a tight connection during monsoon afternoons. Flights at Sky Harbor are occasionally held for storms; because the pickup is flight-tracked, the car adjusts to the new landing time.
Season and events
The Phoenix high season runs from roughly January to April, when snowbirds, golf travel and corporate meetings fill Scottsdale resorts. Cactus League spring training usually runs from late February through March across fifteen teams, the WM Phoenix Open golf tournament is usually in early February, and Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale auction is usually in January. Your fare and the cancellation rule
The fare shown covers the vehicle, chauffeur, route and included waiting. Child seats are free on request. The rates page gives planning ranges. Free cancellation applies until 72 hours before pickup; after that the charge steps up to 10% within 72 hours, 50% within 48 hours and 100% within 24 hours or for a no-show.
Departures and other airports
Sky Harbor's closeness to the city means a downtown or Tempe departure can leave two hours before an international flight and 90 minutes before a domestic one; from North Scottsdale, add half an hour.
