Can the chauffeur meet the jet on the ramp?
The standard pickup is at the FBO: the chauffeur parks in the vehicle area the FBO designates, and you walk through the lobby to the car. Planeside pickup, with the car driven onto the ramp to the aircraft steps, is possible at some FBOs for some trips, but only when the FBO and the aircraft operator approve ramp access for that vehicle and driver on that day. Security procedures, ramp congestion and the FBO's own policy decide it. We pass the request on and confirm what was approved; we do not promise it.
If ramp access is not given, FBO line staff normally move bags between the aircraft and the lobby, so the walk to the car is short and hands-free.
Customs, passports and crew at Van Nuys
Private flights arriving from outside the United States must clear U.S. Customs and Border Protection at an airport where CBP inspection is available, and flight departments file advance passenger data before departure under CBP rules. The Sepulveda Pass is the variable.
