Logan terminals A, B, C and E
Logan has four terminals arranged around a central parking garage, with free Massport shuttle buses running between them and to the MBTA.

There is no Terminal D. Terminal B has two distinct halves with their own exits, so the chauffeur will confirm which side your airline uses.
Where does the chauffeur pick you up at Logan?
App rides at Logan are handled in the central parking garage. Customs and immigration timing at Terminal E
International passengers clear US Customs and Border Protection in Terminal E. Morning arrivals from Europe tend to bunch together, and waits of 30 to 60 minutes from touchdown to the kerb are common, sometimes longer in summer. If you qualify, Global Entry or the CBP Mobile Passport Control app can cut the queue considerably. Your first 60 minutes after actual landing are included; beyond that, waiting is billed in 15-minute blocks.
Drive times from Logan to Boston and beyond
Logan is only about 3 miles from downtown, across the harbour in East Boston, but every route into the city goes through a tunnel or over the Tobin Bridge.
- The Seaport and the convention center: 10 to 20 minutes via the Ted Williams Tunnel.
- Financial District and downtown: 15 to 35 minutes via the Sumner or Ted Williams tunnels.
- Back Bay and the Hynes Convention Center: 20 to 40 minutes.
- Beacon Hill and the North End: 15 to 35 minutes.
- Kendall Square and MIT: 20 to 40 minutes.
- Harvard Square: 25 to 45 minutes.
- Longwood Medical Area: 25 to 45 minutes.
- Waltham, Burlington and the Route 128 corridor: 30 to 60 minutes.
- Providence, Rhode Island: 1 h to 1 h 30 via I-93 and I-95.

MBTA and water transport alternatives
The Silver Line SL1 bus runs from every terminal to South Station, free from the airport, in about 20 to 30 minutes. Free Massport shuttles run to the Airport station on the Blue Line, which reaches State Street in about 10 minutes. Logan Express buses serve suburban park-and-ride sites, and water taxis and a ferry cross the harbour to Long Wharf. Details are on the MBTA. These are quick for a single traveller with light bags. For Cambridge, the western suburbs, a group or winter weather, a car is more comfortable. If you arrive by Amtrak, we also collect at South Station.

Leave the Back Bay 45 to 60 minutes before you want to be at the kerb on a weekday afternoon, and more on a Friday in summer, when Cape traffic joins the tunnels. From Kendall Square allow 40 to 60 minutes. Plan to be at the airport two hours before a domestic flight and three before an international one. The chauffeur drops you on the departures level at your airline's door.

Cruise passengers sail from Flynn Cruiseport Boston in the Seaport, 10 to 20 minutes from Logan. Private flyers often use Hanscom Field in Bedford, 30 to 50 minutes from downtown. Boston's calendar and peak dates
A few dates each year stretch Logan and the roads into the city. The Boston Marathon runs on Patriots' Day, the third Monday of April, closing Back Bay streets for most of the day. University commencements fill hotels in May, and the Head of the Charles Regatta brings crowds to the river in October. The Red Sox play at Fenway Park from April to September, and Kenmore Square traffic builds before every home game. Winter and nor'easters
Between December and March, nor'easters can drop a foot of snow on Boston in a day and cause cancellations across Logan. Massport clears runways quickly, but the tunnels and Storrow Drive slow down. The chauffeur still follows your actual landing, and the fixed fare is not affected by weather.
