Seaport traffic and the tunnels
Almost every car to the Seaport uses the Ted Williams Tunnel from Logan or the I-90 and I-93 interchange from the west and south. The tunnels move well but back up at rush hour and during large shows at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, a few blocks from the cruise terminal. Summer Street and Northern Avenue are busy with office traffic on weekday mornings. The chauffeur sets the pickup time to absorb the delay, and the fare stays fixed.
Fall foliage season: reserve early
September and October bring the heaviest Boston sailings, when Canada and New England itineraries coincide with leaf-peeping visitors and university parents' weekends.
