Trains at South Station
South Station is the northern terminus of the Northeast Corridor.
- Amtrak: Acela and Northeast Regional trains to Providence, New Haven, New York, Philadelphia and Washington, and the Lake Shore Limited to Albany and Chicago. See Amtrak.
- MBTA Commuter Rail: the Providence/Stoughton, Worcester/Framingham, Needham, Franklin, Fairmount, Greenbush, Kingston and Fall River/New Bedford lines, run for the MBTA.
- Subway and bus: the Red Line beneath the station and the Silver Line, whose SL1 runs to Logan's terminals.
- Intercity buses use the South Station Bus Terminal built over the tracks.
Trains to Maine and New Hampshire and the northern Commuter Rail lines use North Station, about 10 minutes away by car.
Station entrances and pickup curbs
The granite headhouse with its clock faces Dewey Square at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Summer Street. The main doors open from the grand concourse onto Atlantic Avenue; there are also exits to Summer Street and toward the Red Line and Silver Line entrances, and ramps up to the bus terminal on the Atlantic Avenue side.
Atlantic Avenue in front of the station has a taxi stand and busy bus stops, and the Rose Kennedy Greenway runs across the road. Private cars stop at the marked pickup curb or a legal stretch of Atlantic Avenue or Summer Street, depending on how the lanes are set that day. The chauffeur waits close by and pulls up as you walk out, and sends the exact spot by text.
Standard curbside meet
Curbside pickup is the standard service; the chauffeur does not come into the concourse by default. A meet inside the concourse can be added as meet and greet. Add-ons are only available in selected locations, and the booking engine shows whether one can be added for your arrival.
Train tracking
We time the pickup to the train's actual arrival, so an Acela slowed by work south of Providence does not leave you on the curb without a car, or the chauffeur burning your waiting time. Fifteen minutes of waiting is included after arrival, then waiting is billed in 15-minute blocks.
Luggage on the walk out
Acela and Regional passengers mostly carry rolling cases; the concourse is flat, and the walk from the tracks to Atlantic Avenue is short. Commuter Rail passengers from the Cape Cod lines in summer often bring beach gear and coolers. Two bags fit a sedan and six fit an SUV; list bulky items in the booking.

Choosing the right vehicle
- Standard Sedan and Luxury Executive Sedan: two people and two bags, the default for a Financial District meeting or a Logan run.
- Executive First Class Sedan (Maybach): for a visiting principal or a board member.
- Standard Black SUV and Executive Black SUV: six passengers and six bags; a sensible choice from December to March.
- Sprinter Van: 12 passengers for a university visit or a conference group.
- Sprinter Luxury Jet Van: seven passengers with carry-ons for a working trip to Providence or Hartford.

More than 72 hours before pickup, cancellation is free. From 72 hours out the charge is 10 %, from 48 hours 50 %, and from 24 hours, or if nobody shows, 100 %.
Departures from South Station
For an outbound train, the pickup is planned to put you at Dewey Square 20 to 30 minutes before an Acela or Northeast Regional, with more time for the Lake Shore Limited. The chauffeur sets you down on Atlantic Avenue at the main doors, a short walk from the gates. If you are connecting from Logan, include the flight number; flights are tracked, with 60 minutes of waiting included on international arrivals and 30 minutes on domestic flights.
