- September to November: UConn football weekends at Rentschler Field and the fall foliage season, when day trips to Litchfield County are popular.
- October: the Hartford Marathon, which closes downtown streets for most of a Saturday.

Rail at Hartford Union Station
Hartford Union Station, next to I-84 on the west side of downtown, is served by Amtrak and by CTrail's Hartford Line between New Haven and Springfield, Massachusetts. At New Haven, travellers change to Metro-North or Amtrak's Northeast Corridor trains for New York. Driving in the Hartford area
Driving is on the right. Connecticut does not charge highway tolls.
