Don Mueang's role in Bangkok
Don Mueang was Bangkok's main airport until Suvarnabhumi opened in 2006. It reopened for scheduled flights in 2007 and is now the city's hub for low-cost airlines, including Thai AirAsia, Thai Lion Air and Nok Air, with dense domestic networks and short-haul flights across South-East Asia, China and India. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2

Rail links
The SRT Red Line commuter railway stops at Don Mueang, linking it to Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal (the former Bang Sue Grand Station) in around 15 minutes, where you can change to the MRT Blue Line.
