Booking an EGE transfer to Vail
Eagle County Regional sits in Gypsum, in the Eagle River valley, and for most of the ski season it is the closest airport with jet service to Vail and Beaver Creek. Put the flight number, the lodge or chalet address and the number of skiers into the reservation engine on this page or on book. Mention skis, boot bags and snowboards in the luggage notes. The fare is fixed at booking and includes the drive, the included waiting time and the vehicle; it is not a meter and it does not surge on a powder morning.

The Eagle County terminal
EGE is a compact single-terminal airport with a small number of gates and one baggage claim hall. Airline service peaks from December to early April, when seasonal nonstops arrive from major US hubs, and thins out in spring and autumn. The airport is owned and operated by Eagle County, and its official site lists the current airlines and ground transport arrangements. Where the chauffeur meets you at EGE
Curbside pickup at the airport's designated commercial ground transportation area is standard. When you collect your bags, often including ski tubes from the oversize belt, contact the chauffeur, who will bring the car to the marked commercial lane outside the terminal doors. Waiting in the terminal with a name board is an add-on called meet and greet. Add-ons are only available in selected locations; the booking engine confirms availability for EGE.
How far is EGE from Vail and Beaver Creek?
The route follows I-70 east up the Eagle River valley. In good conditions it is an easy highway drive; in a storm the same drive can take twice as long.

ECO Transit, the county bus system, links the valley towns, and some lodges run their own shuttles. There is no passenger rail to EGE.
I-70, Vail Pass and the Colorado traction law
The drive from EGE to Vail stays below Vail Pass, but any trip toward Copper, Breckenridge or Denver crosses the 10,662-foot summit and, for Denver, the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnel. Colorado's traction law, enforced by the Colorado Department of Transportation, applies on the I-70 mountain corridor from September 1 to May 31, and closures for accidents or avalanche control happen several times a season. Check COtrip before a Denver transfer. Affiliates assign four-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicles on winter mountain runs, and the chauffeur, not the fare, absorbs the delay.
Which vehicle for a Vail ski trip?
Ski luggage decides the vehicle. Pick from the nine classes on the web booker:
- Standard Black SUV: six passengers and six bags; the default for a family of four with skis in a roof box or a cargo area.
- Executive Black SUV: the same capacity with a Navigator or Escalade-level cabin, the most requested class at EGE.
- Sprinter Van: twelve passengers with twelve small bags, for a ski club or a wedding at Beaver Creek.
- Sprinter Luxury Jet Van: seven passengers and carry-on bags only, better for a corporate retreat than a ski week.
- Luxury Executive Sedan and Executive First Class Sedan (Maybach): two travellers with light luggage in summer or autumn, when roads are dry.
- Standard Sedan: a solo traveller to Edwards or Avon outside the snow season.

Weather diversions and flight changes
Winter storms sometimes send EGE flights to Denver or hold them on the ground. Because the chauffeur follows the live flight status, a late arrival does not cost you waiting time; the 30 minutes of included waiting starts from the actual landing. If your flight diverts to Denver International, call the desk and the booking can be switched to a Denver airport pickup and priced before you agree.
Summer in the Vail Valley
From June to September the valley fills with festivals, mountain-bike events and weddings, and the airport runs a smaller schedule. Summer trips are faster, sedans make sense again, and an hourly chauffeur booked for three hours or more can take guests from the airport to lunch in Edwards and on to Beaver Creek.
Cancellations and changes
Plans change in ski season. Cancel more than 72 hours before pickup and there is no charge. From 72 hours the charge is 10%, from 48 hours 50%, and within 24 hours or for a no-show it is the full fare. Changes to times and addresses can be made from the confirmation link.
