One terminal, three concourses
Denver has a single landside building, the Jeppesen Terminal, with its white peaked roof, and three airside concourses (A, B and C) reached by an underground train. The terminal is divided into an East side and a West side, each with its own baggage claim and curbs; your airline determines which side you use. Concourse A also has a pedestrian bridge from the terminal.
International flights arrive at Concourse A and at the international gates, and passengers are processed by US Customs and Border Protection before re-entering the terminal. How long is the drive from DEN?

Winter I-70 travel depends on weather. Colorado enforces a traction law on the mountain corridor during storms, and closures of Vail Pass or the Eisenhower Tunnel happen. Local affiliates running ski transfers use vehicles equipped for those conditions; the chauffeur may advise leaving earlier, and the Colorado Department of Transportation posts live road status.
Can I take the train instead?
Yes, for downtown. The RTD A Line runs from the station at the south end of the Jeppesen Terminal to Denver Union Station in about 37 minutes, every 15 minutes for most of the day. It is a good choice for a solo traveller with light luggage staying near Union Station. For the Tech Center, Boulder, the foothills or the mountains, the train does not help, and a car is the practical option.

Security at DEN can be slow, and the train ride to the concourses adds ten minutes or more, so most travellers leave downtown two and a half hours before an international flight and two hours before a domestic one. From the mountain resorts, add a buffer for I-70: a Sunday afternoon in ski season can turn a two-hour drive from Vail into four. The chauffeur drops you on Level 6 departures, East or West, according to your airline.
