Centennial Airport south of Denver
Centennial Airport is owned by the Arapahoe County Public Airport Authority and lies in unincorporated Arapahoe County between Englewood and Centennial, about 15 miles south of downtown Denver. It has no airline service and is one of the busiest general aviation airports in the United States, serving corporate flight departments in the Denver Tech Center, charters and private owners heading to the ski resorts. Can the car meet the aircraft?
Normally the chauffeur waits at the FBO's front entrance in the space set aside for chauffeured cars. Planeside pickup is possible only when the FBO and the aircraft operator approve ramp access for that vehicle and chauffeur. In winter, snow clearing and de-icing on the ramp make that less likely. We ask for you and confirm the reply in writing; we do not guarantee it.
International flights and customs
Private flights arriving from Canada, Mexico or overseas must clear U.S. Customs and Border Protection, with passenger and crew data sent before wheels-up. Driving to the mountains in winter
The I-70 mountain corridor is the main route to Vail, Beaver Creek and beyond. From September to May, Colorado's traction and chain laws can apply on I-70, and closures at the tunnel or the passes happen in heavy snow. Chauffeurs check conditions on COtrip before leaving, and SUVs are the right choice in winter. Friday afternoons westbound and Sunday afternoons eastbound are the slowest times. If the roads are closed, your flight department may prefer to fly on to Vail/Eagle County or Aspen, where we also pick up.
Altitude, heat and weather
At nearly 5,900 feet, Denver's air is thin and dry; arriving passengers heading to the mountains gain several thousand feet more. When is Centennial busiest?
Ski season, roughly from late November to mid-April, brings the heaviest private traffic, peaking at Christmas, New Year and Presidents' Day weekend. Sixty minutes of waiting are included after an international arrival and thirty after a domestic one; beyond that, time is billed in 15-minute blocks. Child seats are free on request. If plans change, cancelling more than 72 hours before pickup is free, while 72 hours or less costs 10%, 48 hours or less 50%, and 24 hours or less or a no-show the full fare.
