HKT terminals
Phuket International sits at the northern tip of the island, between Mai Khao and Nai Yang beaches, about 30 km from Phuket Town. Airports of Thailand runs two terminals side by side.

The walk between terminals is short, but the exits are different, so the flight number helps even on a quick domestic hop from Bangkok.
Where does my chauffeur pick me up at Phuket airport?
The standard service is pickup at the area HKT designates for pre-booked cars and hotel transport, outside the arrivals exit. After you collect bags and clear customs, message the chauffeur, who sends the exact door or pillar number. At HKT the chauffeur stays outside the building unless you add a greeting.
A name-board greeting in the arrivals hall can be added as meet and greet. Add-ons are only available in selected locations; the engine tells you at once if it is on offer for your flight.
Immigration and the Thailand Digital Arrival Card
Since May 2025 foreign visitors entering Thailand complete the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card online before arrival, replacing the old paper form. Many nationalities enter visa-exempt for tourism; check current rules with the Thai immigration authorities or your embassy, as allowed lengths of stay have changed in recent years. In high season, from December to March, several long-haul and regional flights land together and immigration can take 45 to 90 minutes. The 60 free minutes of waiting run from actual landing, after which waiting is billed in 15-minute blocks.

Phuket is larger than many visitors expect, and the main north-south roads carry heavy traffic around Chalong, Kathu and the approach to Patong. The west-coast beaches are reached over hills, with some steep sections.

Is there public transport from Phuket airport?
There is no rail on Phuket. The airport bus runs to Phuket Town and some beaches, and minibuses carry shared groups, but with luggage, children or a late arrival a private car is the simplest option. A car also stops where you need it, which a shared van to Patong will not do.

Yacht arrivals and charter guests
Phuket is Thailand's main yachting base. Guests joining a charter at Ao Po Grand Marina, Royal Phuket Marina or Yacht Haven are usually 20 to 45 minutes from the airport, and a chauffeur can wait while bags are carried aboard. What is included in the fixed fare?
Your fare covers the car and chauffeur for the route, flight tracking, and the included waiting: 60 minutes from landing on international flights and 30 minutes on domestic ones. If your flight into HKT is late, the pickup moves with it at no charge. Planning ranges for Phuket by vehicle class are on the rates page. For Phuket bookings, cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; within 72 hours it is 10 %, within 48 hours 50 %, and within 24 hours or for a no-show 100 %.
Day trips and hourly hire
Many guests book one day to see Phang Nga Bay viewpoints, the Big Buddha, Old Phuket Town or the beaches of the south. Returning to HKT for your departure
Leave Patong, Kata or Karon about three hours before an international flight in high season, and two and a half hours at quieter times. From Laguna or Mai Khao, 90 minutes before a domestic flight is usually enough. The road out of Patong climbs over the hill towards Kathu and can back up on weekend afternoons, so allow extra time then. Include the departing flight number on the return booking, so the HKT drop-off is at the correct terminal.
The monsoon season and road conditions
From roughly May to October the southwest monsoon brings heavy showers to Phuket's west coast. Sudden downpours slow the hill roads to Patong and Kata and can flood low-lying sections briefly. Chauffeurs drive to the conditions, and the ranges above already allow for normal rain; after a big storm, expect the upper end. The fare you booked does not change.
Island hopping and ferry piers
Guests heading on to Phi Phi, Koh Yao or Krabi by boat usually leave from Rassada Pier near Phuket Town, about 45 to 60 minutes from the airport, or from Bang Rong Pier on the east coast, around 25 to 35 minutes away. Ferry and speedboat timetables are fixed, so give the departure time in the booking notes and the chauffeur plans the pickup with a margin. Luggage goes straight from the car to the pier porters.
