Terminals at HNL
Honolulu's airport, officially Daniel K. Inouye International, has two main terminals linked by walkways and the Wiki Wiki shuttle. Terminal 1 serves mainly Hawaiian Airlines, including many inter-island flights. Terminal 2 handles most other mainland and international airlines, and its international arrivals area processes customs and immigration. The Mauka Concourse, opened in 2021, added gates on the Terminal 2 side.

Where is the pickup at Honolulu Airport?
Standard service is curbside at the commercial pickup area the airport assigns to pre-arranged vehicles outside baggage claim on the ground level. Once you have your bags, text or call the chauffeur; they will confirm the lane and come forward from the holding area.

Skyline rail and buses
Honolulu's Skyline rail line, built on a viaduct above the streets, now has a station at the airport, with trains west toward Kapolei and east toward Kalihi. International arrivals and driving on Oahu
HNL receives nonstop flights from Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and other Pacific points, as well as Canada. These arrivals clear customs and immigration in Terminal 2 and include 60 minutes of free waiting from landing, which is usually enough even when several wide-body jets arrive close together. Travellers connecting from an international flight to an inter-island flight usually stay airside, so book the car for your final arrival instead, whether that is HNL or a neighbour island.
On the road, the H-1 freeway carries most airport traffic and slows heavily eastbound in the afternoon and westbound in the morning. In Waikiki, Kalakaua Avenue and Kuhio Avenue run one way, and resorts have porte-cocheres where the chauffeur stops at the front door. For villas on the windward side or the North Shore, send the gate code or check-in instructions in the trip notes. Island tours and wedding runs can be booked as hourly service with a 3-hour minimum. Departures and cancellation
Allow about 2 hours before mainland flights, including the agricultural bag screening, and 90 minutes for inter-island flights. Cancelling costs nothing more than 72 hours ahead, then 10% inside 72 hours, 50% inside 48 hours, and the full fare inside 24 hours or for a no-show.
