Nadi International, on the western side of Viti Levu, is Fiji's main gateway and the home base of the national airline. Journeys along the Queens Road pass through villages with low speed limits, school zones and roadside stalls, and animals on the verge are common after dark. Night driving is slower than daytime.

No railway: the alternatives to a car
Fiji has no passenger rail network. Getting back to Nadi for your departure flight
Check-in for long-haul flights at Nadi usually closes 60 minutes before departure, and the airline's desks can queue when several flights leave in the same evening wave.
