Nadi International Airport (NAN)
NAN is Fiji's main gateway, about 9 km north of Nadi town on the Queens Road. International and domestic flights use the same terminal complex, with domestic services to Suva, the outer islands and the resort islands leaving from the domestic side. Standard pickup is curbside at the designated pre-arranged pickup area outside arrivals, where the chauffeur messages you and waits with the vehicle. A name-board meet and greet in the arrivals hall is an add-on, and add-ons are only available in selected locations.
Every flight is tracked, and included waiting starts at the real landing: 60 minutes on international arrivals and 30 minutes on domestic flights, then 15-minute blocks. Denarau Island
Denarau, a reclaimed island joined to the mainland by a short causeway, holds the largest concentration of resort hotels in Fiji, including the Sheraton, the Westin, the Hilton, the Radisson Blu and the Sofitel, along with a golf course and the Port Denarau shopping and marina complex. It is the natural base for travellers who want resort facilities close to the airport. A chauffeur is also the easiest way to reach Nadi town's Sri Siva Subramaniya temple, the Garden of the Sleeping Giant or the Sabeto mud pools for an afternoon.
Island transfers: the handover at Port Denarau
The Mamanuca and Yasawa island resorts are reached by boat, and nearly all scheduled catamarans and resort launches leave from Port Denarau Marina. The Coral Coast and Natadola
South of Nadi, the Coral Coast runs from Natadola Bay past Sigatoka to Korolevu, with resorts such as the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort at Natadola, the Shangri-La Yanuca Island near Sigatoka and the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort. Pacific Harbour, further east, is known for shark diving and the Beqa Lagoon. These are longer transfers where a fixed fare and a comfortable vehicle matter most after a night flight.
Cruise calls and Suva
Cruise ships calling in western Fiji usually berth at Lautoka, the sugar port about 25 minutes north of Nadi, and some smaller ships anchor off Denarau and tender passengers to the marina. Suva, the capital, is on the other side of Viti Levu, three and a half to four hours by road; business travellers often take a car to Suva for meetings with ministries and regional organisations, or fly to Nausori Airport. - May to October: the drier, cooler season and the peak for weddings and family travel, including the Australian and New Zealand school holidays.
- November to April: the wet season, warmer and more humid, with the risk of tropical cyclones, most often from January to March.
- Late August or September: the Hibiscus Festival in Suva, usually.
- Diwali: widely celebrated by Fiji's Indo-Fijian community, with lights in Nadi town, usually in October or November.

Driving in Fiji
Fiji drives on the left. The Queens Road is sealed but mostly single-lane in each direction, with speed humps through villages, pedestrians on the verges and occasional cattle or horses on the road. Speed limits are low by Western standards, and police run speed checks. Heavy rain can flood low-lying sections around Nadi and Sigatoka in the wet season, and the chauffeur will re-route or delay rather than drive through water. Night driving is slower because roads are dimly lit.
Arrival rules for Fiji
Citizens of many countries, including the United States, Canada, the UK, the EU, Australia and New Zealand, receive a visitor permit on arrival, typically for up to four months, provided they hold a passport valid for at least six months beyond the stay and a confirmed onward or return ticket. Every arriving passenger completes a passenger arrival card, available on paper and online; a fully digital arrival card was still being planned in 2026. Vehicles in Nadi
A Standard Sedan works for one or two travellers. An executive SUV suits resort luggage, golf bags and the Coral Coast drive. Standard Black SUVs and Sprinter Vans carry families and wedding parties, and minicoaches or motorcoaches move resort groups. Availability of partner vehicles such as stretch limousines is more limited in Fiji than in large cities, so ask the desk early. Flights on from Fiji

More than 72 hours before pickup, cancellation is free. At 72 hours or less the charge is 10%; at 48 hours or less, 50%; at 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100%. Tracked flight delays never count as a no-show.
