Is the train from Newark airport a good option?
AirTrain Newark links the terminals to the Newark Liberty International Airport rail station, where NJ Transit and Amtrak trains reach New York Penn Station in about 25 to 30 minutes. It avoids tunnel traffic entirely. The trade-off is the transfer, the stairs and the walk at Penn Station with bags. Times are on NJ Transit.
