An airport inside the city
Songshan is one of the few capital-city airports that sits almost in the middle of town, on the north side of Songshan District next to Minsheng Community and a short hop from the Neihu technology park. Its official site is run by the Taipei Songshan Airport authority. Two terminals face the same forecourt:
- Terminal 1 (international): short-haul "city to city" routes, chiefly Tokyo Haneda, Seoul Gimpo and Shanghai Hongqiao, plus some other mainland China and Japan services.
- Terminal 2 (domestic): flights to Kinmen, Penghu, Matsu, Hualien and Taitung.

Pick-up point and meet and greet
Your chauffeur meets you curbside at the area TSA sets aside for pre-arranged and hired cars in front of your terminal. After you collect your bags, message the chauffeur for the exact spot. By default the chauffeur waits with the car, not inside the arrivals hall.

Metro and rail
Songshan Airport station on the Taipei Metro Wenhu (Brown) line is right outside Terminal 1, with trains to Zhongxiao Fuxing and Daan for connections across the city. For high-speed rail, the Taiwan HSR leaves from Taipei Main Station, about 20 to 30 minutes away by car. The metro is efficient with a small bag, but the Brown line's elevated stations and transfers can be awkward with several suitcases. A car goes straight to the hotel entrance.

Early and late flights at Songshan
Morning departures to Tokyo and Seoul leave early, and Xinyi or Da'an hotels are only a short drive away, so most travellers can leave 90 minutes to two hours before an international departure and 60 minutes before a domestic one. Put the flight number in a departure booking too; if the airline brings the flight forward, dispatch sees it. Return trips from the airport after an evening arrival are quick because the city's rush has faded by then.
Trade fairs and business trips
Taipei's technology and trade calendar, with shows at the Nangang Exhibition Center and the Taipei World Trade Center, brings heavy business traffic through Songshan's shuttle routes. Songshan on the Tokyo and Seoul shuttle
The Taipei to Tokyo Haneda and Taipei to Seoul Gimpo routes connect three city-centre airports, so a trip from an office in Xinyi to a meeting in Marunouchi or Yeouido can be shorter door to door than any route through Taoyuan, Narita or Incheon. Keelung, Beitou and day trips
Because Songshan sits on the north-east side of the city, it is also a handy starting point for trips out of town. Keelung, where cruise ships dock, is usually 30 to 45 minutes away; the Beitou hot springs and Yangmingshan are closer still. For a day that mixes an airport pickup with sightseeing, an hourly chauffeur (three-hour minimum) keeps the same car and driver all day.
Operating hours
Songshan closes overnight because of its central location, so the last arrivals of the evening are busy and the taxi rank can be crowded. A pre-booked car avoids that wait.

Cancel more than 72 hours ahead for free; the charge is 10 % at 72 hours or less, 50 % at 48 hours or less and 100 % at 24 hours or less or for a no-show.
