Keeneland holds two short race meets a year, usually in April and October, each about three weeks long. Bourbon Trail days
The distilleries west of Lexington make the classic day trip: Woodford Reserve near Versailles, Four Roses and Wild Turkey near Lawrenceburg, Castle and Key and Buffalo Trace near Frankfort, and Town Branch in Lexington itself. Downtown, the university and where visitors stay
Downtown centres on Main Street and the Central Bank Center, which includes the convention halls and Rupp Arena, home of University of Kentucky men's basketball. UK's campus and Kroger Field, where the Wildcats play football, sit just south. Driving in and around Lexington
Traffic keeps to the right. New Circle Road (KY 4) rings the city, and I-64 and I-75 cross just north-east of it. Lexington has no passenger rail service, so every long-distance traveller arrives by air or road.
