The Kentucky International Convention Center fills a downtown block near Fourth Street Live, and the KFC Yum! Center arena sits on Main Street by the river. Ohio River bridges and tolls
Louisville faces Indiana across the Ohio River. The I-65 crossings (the Abraham Lincoln and Kennedy bridges) and the Lewis and Clark Bridge on I-265 are tolled electronically through RiverLink; the Sherman Minton Bridge on I-64 and the Clark Memorial Bridge are free. Trips to Jeffersonville, New Albany or the Indiana suburbs may cross one of them.
Rail and other practical notes
Louisville has no Amtrak passenger service, so almost everyone arrives by air or road. Driving is on the right, and the city is on Eastern time. Traffic is heaviest at the Spaghetti Junction interchange of I-64, I-65 and I-71 by the river and on the Watterson Expressway (I-264) at the peaks. Spring brings severe thunderstorms; summers are hot and humid. Child seats are free on request.
