The Oklahoma City Convention Center opened in 2021 beside Scissortail Park, with the Omni Oklahoma City Hotel connected across the street. What happens in Oklahoma City through the year?

Rail at the Santa Fe Depot
Amtrak's Heartland Flyer leaves the Santa Fe Depot, beside Bricktown, once a day for Fort Worth, a trip of roughly four hours. The OKC Streetcar links the depot with downtown and Midtown. Schedules are on Amtrak. Chauffeurs collect rail passengers at the kerb outside the depot.
Driving realities: turnpikes, weather and time zone
Oklahoma City runs on Central time and traffic drives on the right. The city is spread out, and I-35, I-40, I-44 and I-235 carry most trips; peak congestion runs roughly 7:00 to 8:30 and 16:30 to 18:00. Oklahoma's turnpikes, including the Turner, the Kilpatrick and the H.E. Bailey, are cashless and billed by PikePass or plate, as explained by the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. Spring brings severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings, mostly April to June, and winter can bring ice. When the National Weather Service issues a warning, the chauffeur waits for it to pass rather than drive into it.
