Tulsa International Airport (TUL)
TUL is about 9 miles northeast of downtown, and the drive usually takes 15 to 20 minutes on SH-11 and US-75 or I-244. The airport has one terminal with two concourses, A and B, and a single security checkpoint, so most arrivals are at the kerb within minutes of reaching baggage claim. The Tulsa Port of Catoosa
Tulsa has an inland seaport. The Tulsa Port of Catoosa, about 15 miles northeast of downtown near the airport, sits at the head of the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System, which gives barges a route to the Mississippi and the Gulf of Mexico. It is one of the most inland river ports in the United States and an industrial park for manufacturers and logistics firms. Getting around: roads, tolls and rail
Tulsa is on Central time and traffic drives on the right. The Broken Arrow Expressway (SH-51), US-169 and the Creek Turnpike carry most suburban commuting, and the busiest periods are roughly 7:00 to 8:30 and 16:30 to 18:00. The Turner, Will Rogers, Creek and Cherokee turnpikes are cashless, collected by PikePass or plate billing through the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. Tulsa has no Amtrak passenger service, so travellers to Oklahoma City or Kansas City drive or fly. Spring storms and winter ice can close roads briefly, and chauffeurs follow official warnings.
