Where the terminal is and how the piers work
The Manhattan Cruise Terminal sits on the Hudson River at 711 Twelfth Avenue, between roughly West 46th and West 54th Streets in Hell's Kitchen, next to the Intrepid Museum at Pier 86. It has three finger piers, 88, 90 and 92, with the passenger buildings on an upper level reached by vehicle ramps from Twelfth Avenue (Route 9A). Lines that sail from Manhattan include Norwegian Cruise Line, Carnival Cruise Line and MSC Cruises, along with visiting ships from other lines; assignments vary, so rely on your documents.
The ramps are tight and, on a busy Sunday, cars queue along Twelfth Avenue before the turn. Chauffeurs time the approach and use the right lane early.

The Lincoln Tunnel makes Newark Liberty surprisingly close for West Side sailings. LaGuardia is the nearest in miles, and JFK is the likeliest for international arrivals. Hell's Kitchen, Hudson Yards and the Times Square district are 5 to 15 minutes from the piers, which makes a pre-cruise night in the city simple. Hotels in Hudson Yards, the Marriott Marquis on Times Square and the hotels along Central Park South are all short transfers. Families often add a Broadway show the night before; book a Luxury Stretch Limo or an SUV for the evening and a separate transfer to the pier in the morning.
