The Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre
Hong Kong International Airport, on the island of Chek Lap Kok off Lantau, handles business jets through a single dedicated facility: the Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre, known as HKBAC. It is the only FBO at the airport, with its own terminal building, lounges and government border counters, so private passengers never pass through the airline terminals. The HKBAC website describes its services, and Hong Kong International Airport publishes airport information. Parking stands for business jets are limited, which your flight department manages; for ground transport, the tail number is what counts.
Pickup at the HKBAC door, and airside requests
The chauffeur waits at the HKBAC kerb. HKBAC staff move your bags from the aircraft through the building. Should you want the car at the aircraft, mention it in the booking. We send the chauffeur's name, driving licence and plate to HKBAC and your aircraft operator, and airside access is granted only if both approve it for that arrival under the airport's security rules. Plan on the door.
Immigration, customs and entry rules
Immigration and customs officers process private passengers inside HKBAC, usually within minutes. Hong Kong keeps its own entry rules, separate from mainland China; many nationalities can visit visa-free for a set period. Check yours with the Hong Kong Immigration Department before flying. If your trip continues into mainland China or Macau, you will need the relevant entry documents for that border as well. Busy weeks
Private traffic rises for Art Basel Hong Kong, usually in March, for the Hong Kong Sevens rugby tournament, usually in spring, and for financial conferences through the year. Typhoon season runs roughly from June to October; a typhoon signal 8 or higher stops most road traffic, and the booking simply moves with your revised landing. Waiting, hourly hire and cancellation
Each arrival is followed by its registration. Waiting is included for 60 minutes after landing on an international arrival; beyond that it is billed in 15-minute blocks. Hourly hire starts at three hours. If plans change more than 72 hours out, there is no fee; at 72 hours or less the fee is 10%, at 48 hours or less 50%, at 24 hours or less or on a no-show 100%. Departing from HKBAC
For a departure, book the pickup at your hotel, office or home with the aircraft registration and planned departure time, and choose HKBAC as the drop-off. The chauffeur takes you to the HKBAC kerb rather than the airline departures hall of Terminal 1. From Central or Admiralty, allow 30 to 45 minutes; from the south side of the island, up to an hour.
