Terminals 2 and 3 at Kastrup
Copenhagen Airport sits on the island of Amager, about 8 km south-east of the city centre. Its passenger operation runs through Terminals 2 and 3, which form one connected building, and the pier system splits Schengen and non-Schengen gates. Most arriving passengers leave baggage reclaim into the arrivals hall at Terminal 3, where the metro and railway stations also sit. Where does the chauffeur pick you up?
The standard service is curbside pickup at the airport's designated area for pre-booked and commercial vehicles. Once your bags arrive, call or message the chauffeur, who will already be close by with the car and will tell you exactly where to walk. The chauffeur stays with the vehicle; they do not enter the arrivals hall on a standard booking.
If you want a person waiting in the hall with a name board, choose the meet and greet add-on. Add-ons are only available in selected locations, and the booker shows whether the option applies at CPH for your date.
Passport control, EES and customs
Denmark is in the Schengen area, so most flights from continental Europe arrive with no passport check. Flights from the UK, North America, the Middle East and Asia use the non-Schengen piers and go through Danish border control, where the EU Entry/Exit System now registers non-EU visitors. Expect fingerprints and a photo on your first registered entry; after that the process is quicker. ETIAS has not launched, so no advance authorisation is needed today. Customs has green and red channels. From aircraft door to kerb, non-Schengen passengers typically need 20 to 45 minutes, which the 60 included minutes normally cover.

Both the Øresund Bridge and the Great Belt Bridge are tolled. Driving into Sweden, carry your passport: Swedish authorities have run identity or border checks on the crossing at various times, and the rules can change at short notice.
Metro and train alternatives
Copenhagen's rail links are excellent. The M2 metro line runs from Terminal 3 to Kongens Nytorv and Nørreport in about 15 minutes, day and night; details are on Copenhagen Metro. DSB trains from the airport station reach Copenhagen Central in about 13 minutes, and Øresund trains continue to Malmö. For a single traveller with a small bag heading to a hotel near a station, the metro is hard to beat. A chauffeur is the better answer for luggage, children, a group, an early cruise embarkation, a very late landing or a destination outside the metro network, such as a coastal home north of the city.

Copenhagen Fashion Week runs twice a year, usually around late January or early February and again in August, and Roskilde Festival, about 40 minutes west of the airport, usually runs in late June and early July. When flights run late or plans change
A delayed landing moves the pickup automatically, and you are not charged for the delay itself. Extra waiting after the included time is billed in 15-minute blocks. Cancellations made more than 72 hours ahead are free; inside 72 hours the fee is 10%, inside 48 hours it is 50%, and inside 24 hours or on a no-show it is the full fare.
