Crossing Lake Washington: bridges and tolls
Two floating bridges connect Bellevue to Seattle. SR 520 (the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge) is tolled electronically in both directions, with rates that change by time of day. I-90 across Mercer Island is toll-free. I-405, the Eastside spine, has express toll lanes between Lynnwood and Bellevue. Downtown Bellevue and the Eastside districts
Downtown Bellevue runs along Bellevue Way and 108th Avenue NE, with Bellevue Square, Lincoln Square and The Bravern at its core and Downtown Park at the south. East of I-405, the Spring District and BelRed have grown into a new office and residential area on the light rail line. Factoria and Eastgate, along I-90, hold further office parks. North are Kirkland, with its lakefront, and Redmond, home of large technology campuses around Overlake and Redmond Town Center. Issaquah and Sammamish sit to the east toward the Cascades. Many Eastside offices have security desks and visitor loops; send the building and entrance with the booking.
Hotels and the convention centre
Downtown hotels include the Hyatt Regency Bellevue, The Westin Bellevue, W Bellevue, the Hotel Bellevue and Lincoln Square's hotels, with the Hilton Bellevue and several business hotels near I-405. Meydenbauer Center, the city's convention centre on NE 6th Street, hosts technology, medical and trade events and sits a short walk from most of these hotels. Light rail, cruises and trains
Sound Transit's 2 Line now crosses Lake Washington on the I-90 bridge, linking downtown Bellevue with Seattle, the International District and Redmond, and it helps on game days. It does not reach the airport directly; that needs a transfer to the 1 Line. Cruise passengers sailing to Alaska from the Port of Seattle cruise terminals at Smith Cove and Bell Street are about 25 to 40 minutes from Bellevue, and the cruise season usually runs from April to October. Early flights, late arrivals and teams
Many Sea-Tac departures to the East Coast and Asia leave early in the morning or near midnight, when a pre-booked car is simpler than looking for a ride.
