Arriving at SRQ
Sarasota Bradenton International straddles the county line about five miles north of downtown, and it is one of the easiest airports in Florida for a pickup. The keys, downtown and Lakewood Ranch
Downtown Sarasota runs along the bayfront from the marina to Main Street and Palm Avenue. The John Ringling Causeway crosses to St. Armands Circle and Lido Key, and Longboat Key stretches north toward Anna Maria. Siesta Key, known for its white quartz sand, is reached by two bridges south of town. Choosing a vehicle
Standard Sedans cover solo and couple trips. An executive SUV is the practical choice for beach luggage, golf clubs and three passengers. Families flying in together and wedding parties use a Standard Black SUV or Sprinter Van, and a partner stretch limousine or Rolls-Royce is available for weddings at the keys' resorts. Intercity runs from Sarasota
- St. Petersburg: about 40 miles over the Skyway, 45 to 60 minutes.
- Tampa: about 60 miles, 60 to 90 minutes.
- Fort Myers: about 75 miles on I-75, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes.
- Naples: about 110 miles, 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes.
- Orlando: about 130 miles, 2 hours to 2 hours 30 minutes, useful for theme-park trips or MCO flights.

Evenings out: St. Armands, Main Street and the theatres

Driving is on the right. US-41 (the Tamiami Trail) is the main coastal road and backs up in winter, when seasonal residents return. There is no passenger rail in Sarasota; the nearest Amtrak station is in Tampa. Hurricane season runs from June through November.

Arriving from abroad
