Spokane International Airport (GEG): pickup explained
GEG lies about six miles west of downtown along I-90 and US-2. The terminal serves Concourses A and B and the separate Concourse C, each with its own baggage claim area, so tell us your airline and the chauffeur will be on the right side of the building. Commercial ground transportation operates from the airport's designated ground transportation area next to baggage claim; the chauffeur texts the car details and meeting position once you land. Downtown, Riverfront Park and the hotels
Downtown Spokane sits on both sides of the Spokane River, where the falls drop through the centre of the city and Riverfront Park, the site of Expo '74, holds the Pavilion and the gondola over the falls. The Spokane Convention Center and the First Interstate Center for the Arts line the south bank. Coeur d'Alene and the Idaho side
Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, is about 40 to 50 minutes east on I-90, and many GEG passengers are heading to the lake resorts, golf courses and summer houses around it. The Coeur d'Alene Resort on the lakefront is a common drop, as are homes on the lake's eastern and southern shores. North Idaho keeps Pacific time like Spokane, so clocks do not change on the way. Book it as a one-way transfer from the airport; the fare is fixed door to door. Northern Quest Resort & Casino in Airway Heights, a few minutes west of the airport, is another frequent pickup.
Rail and bus arrivals
Amtrak's Empire Builder, linking Chicago with Seattle and Portland, calls at the Spokane Intermodal Center downtown.
